Today is an “anniversary” for us! Four years ago, we had our first date!
My goodness! How time flies when you’re having fun. I’ll start packing the
cooler for happy hour tonight at the fishing camp as soon as I‘m off here.
Adult beverages, bacon bites, deviled eggs, and shrimp dip. Yummmmm!

We are having thanksgiving dinner today at work. The maintenance guys are outside deep frying turkeys right now. It smells SO good outside! Which is something we rarely get to say lol

Aww.... how sweet Momala.

It's a beautiful day. Clear blue sky, sunlight pouring over everything.

Thinking turkey, how long will it take a 20 pound bird to thaw in the fridge?

I'd rather have fresh but frozen will do this time.

Have fun Momala! I just recently had my seven year first date anniversary with DH! It always makes me smile.

For all out there who pray, wish good thoughts, or whatever you do, please keep my area in mind. Yesterday our Wendy's went up in flames. It's now closed down. I'm sure they'll rebuild but so many of those workers are young moms. I know a lot of them are counting on a paycheck from here until Christmas. I am positive this will hit their pocketbook hard.

This morning several units of an apartment building went up in fire. Everyone is safe but everything these people had is gone. Just destroyed. This isn't a low income place but a complex that many low income families live in. The ones that make just enough not to qualify for help and yet struggle to get by. I'm sure many of them had already purchased Christmas gifts. But they lost everything. Dishes, clothes, furniture, everything. I know all that can be replaced but it's so hard when you are already struggling.

Please keep all these people in mind and while you're doing it remember to be thankful for all you. We never seem to really appreciate all the good things until they're gone.

Anybody want a pissed off toddler?

He opted to throw his lunch on the floor instead of eating it so it got took away. He's having himself a tantrum at the moment. He thinks he's going to rule the roost and he is wrong. He knows that throwing stuff is a sure way to lose whatever it is he's thrown. When it's food, he will cry 'hungry! hungry!' when his food gets taken away. He's been told countless times that hungry boys don't throw their food and if he's really hungry, he would eat his food instead of playing with it or throwing it.

We're meanies. He will be going down for a nap when DH and I are done eating. He can have a snack when he wakes up. Unless he throws that too. Then he will just have to wait till dinner. He will learn acceptable meal time behavior. Until then, he will have to deal with hunger when he acts up. I know this is just a phase and that he's just trying to assert himself. However, Mommy and Daddy will win this battle of wits.

The funny thing is, he already knows how to behave at meal times. This being a turd at meal times business is a recent development. He's really been asserting himself the past couple weeks and has some weird notion that he's going to rule the roost. He is so, so wrong on that. He's very much into testing limits lately and boy does he get pissed off when he discovers that we're not going to give in to him.

Good day, everyone!

Windy again here. We are expecting 4 to 7 inches of snow over night. Yeah, that sounds like a fun Friday. Not.

Took the quilted wall hanging out of the timeout corner this morning. It's actually going together much better this time. ;) Time out corners do work, lol.

We are looking forward to a weekend with DS and family. It will be our Thanksgiving with him since he has to work on T-day. DH and I are going. DD and her family are unable to go since DD is still down with her bad sciatic nerve.

...and this post has been sitting here unposted for over an hour.

Oh, and momala, YAY! Have fun!

So...

G is VP of Inventory Operations at our Distribution Center and his co-worker is VP of Distribution Services. They are the two head guys there, the President of the company is in NY.

Well, when G got home last night, he called me cussing. He received a jury summons. For January 4th. We are closed from Christmas Eve until Jan 4th, so that is a SUPER buy time for us. The worst possible timing for his job.

He texted his co-worker that he had received a jury summons. They guy texted back and said "yeah, right. You're funny". G told him he was not kidding. Turns out, co-worker ALSO received a summons for jury duty on the 4th.

Not only that, but our VP of Business affairs ALSO got the same summons.

We are not a big company.  How crazy is it that 3 of our VPs got the same summons????

I think so.  I don't think they would want people that have known each other 20 years and work together, on the same jury anyway...

Plus, he's on tour a good part of January, so they are going to have to make an exemption for that...

O4, what are the odds of three people, all VP's of the same company, getting the same jury summons?

Mind boggling!

Hope it works out for all of them.

Trudy, are you home yet?

Flan, you sound content. :)

Soup is almost done here. The house smells wonderful.

Still not looking forward to the snow tonight and tomorrow. Nope, don't want it.

Yep. He got the wrong parents if he wanted pushovers. No way no how is a child ever going to rule my home.

His nap seems to have unbunched his diaper. He's currently glued to Home Alone 2 snacking on some goldfish. I'm about to start dinner. Making my basil steak pizza. It will be a new item for DS. I think he'll like it.

Woke up with some hives. Not many but they are there. Got my shots today too. Last time they showed up was about 4 weeks ago. Hmm, maybe, just maybe we are coming to a reason for these. What else comes around every 4 weeks in women? Hormones!

So I decided to indulge myself today and got a massage. I feel wonderful. It won't last too long but I feel good and sleepy.

I also did some more SS shopping.

Soup for dinner on the rainy day.

Back to the grind tomorrow

This is way too much of a coincidence. Maybe it's a prank, maybe a competitor paid off someone.

They should all be able to get out of it as key people in a local business operation.

Or at the very least, get extensions.

DH was out and about so I asked him to pick up ricotta on his way home.

Me: Please pick up some ricotta on your way home. It's by the cottage cheese and sour cream.
DH: Is it by the sliced cheese?
Me: ... No ...

Reminds of how people respond 'coke' to being asked how they're doing. Sheesh.

O4 that is way too coincidental. Someone in Corporate should call the court system and explain the issue and have them check it out. Perhaps call a State Senator to intervene. Something smells.

So nice Momma!

My day was so-so. So happy that I have most of next week off! DS is coming home for the week. So excited.

I got home late tonight. DD had stacked more wood, brought in the trash barrel and the recycling barrel, remember to turn on the outsie lights, and took the dog for a walk. She is really a doll.
