A good father is just as important in a little girls life as is a little boys. If a girl has a real good father who shows her love and respect and let's her know he has her back she will not or very seldom settle for some jerk.

Abusive, insecure men don't look for confident women, they look for insecure women. I told my dd to observe how her boyfriends father treated his wife. That would be most likely how he would treat her.

I agree with this more than anything. No class can teach this. My DN will tell you flat out that she looked for a guy like DH. She's a smart girl.

SS lives in a family with people with drug and alcohol problems. All the women have been abused by men at some point. None of them see it as an issue.
