I'm kind of worried. I've had this pain in my heel for about five weeks now. It gets better when I stay off it but if I do any amount of walking at all the pain comes back. Today I found a bruise on my heel. Like it came out of nowhere. Almost like it bruised from the inside out.

 It sounds like plantar fasciitis.

Mom had that happen. It was a bone spur.

So what did they do?  It's not going away.  After the first of December I think I'm going to make an appointment with our doctor.

I was going to say bone spur too. I had one on the top of my foot.  I had surgery for them to grind it off. Outpatient, no therapy, I had to stay off it as much as possible for a couple weeks, but it was a pretty simple process

It's REALLY painful.  And I'm not whiny when it comes to pain.

Mine felt like I was stepping on a pin/nail.

Yep.  It's like there's constantly a small marble under my heel.  If I stay off it and prop it up it feels better.  Not pain free but better.  But the more time I spend walking the more painful it is.

Thanks for telling me this.  I'm feeling better that it might be something like this.

It was daddy who had it. Not mom. No surgery. He said they treated it with exercise.

I think there was some kind of injections too.

That's right, I had cortisone injections too. They helped, but were not a long term solution for me.

I had a friend with the spurs in his heals. He would get a cortisone shot but it lasted only 6 months or so and was painful plus you can only do about 3 shots and then it's sugary time.

I would love a smart TV.  But the TV in the basement works just fine, it's just pre digital. So I will keep that one, no need to waste the money

 True.

I got this one for Mother's day. My other tv died.

I had been without a tv for over a month.

I was very pleasantly surprised.

Just got the home fires going. Holy cow the log I put in is large, I can't quite get the door to shut all the way and the smell is cherry. What a wonderful aroma! They draw back to having a blower on a wood burner is once you close the door not all the wood aroma is present.

I can't believe you and many others, me included, who have always paid for insurance have wait for any reason.  It is a sty on our society today.  And before anyone starts with how great we had it with out great insurance, remember we PAID for it at the same time as paying for medicaid, etc. I need to go to the dermatologist, do you know how far they are booking out????  Months!  Yeah I get to keep my doctor if I don't plan on dying in the next few months.

If I don't still qualify, I am about to lose my prescription coverage.

And it's all going up as a whole.

We're on the exchange now.  It totally sucks.  DH spent weeks researching it.  There are a crap ton of plans out there but only two plans on the whole market place that are even accepted here.  You don't even want to know how badly this Obamachit is.  And then we had to go without insurance for a month before we even qualified.  THEN our rep lost our info three times.  THEN the insurance company called us THREE TIMES threatening to drop us because we hadn't paid our premium.  However, every time DH called to pay it we weren't in the system.  So he had to call the rep back and literally threaten him.  It's been a nightmare.

Oh, and get this.  The divorce papers say that DH is required to cover SS on insurance.  But if the child is not in your physical custody you cannot insure them on Obamachit.  WTF?  He finally managed to buy SS a catastrophic plan.  He gets three doctors visits and three ER visits a year free.  Generic drugs are covered for $15.  Anything else is not.  The whole thing is insane.

Yep. I think late in the year. Well, I mean 2016. I should be more specific. I figured that was pretty self explanatory.

I will try to watch it again tomorrow. I gave up on it tonight.

And I think it's how I was watching it.

They were showing it on FX and doing that behind the scenes stuff every commercial break.

I think I need to watch it without interruption.

I got to where they were at the floating mountains.

It's not bad. I was just having a hard time getting into it with all the breaks.

Oh, well, I will not die if I do not get to place the order; there will be another promotional sale on down the line. Just a little disappointing.

Otherwise this Friday is colder than cold.....

Hmm, I bet it isn't LL Bean, PM what you want I will order it and ship it!  BTW I have an LL Bean outlet 4 miles from me, a true outlet. biggrin

Thank you very much for the offer!!!   Finally got through and placed the order.    We usually use Land's End  because the sizes they have fit my wife well.  We have had trouble with LL Bean in the past on women's things.  They seem to run small.   My wife is not a petite Japanese girl.   She is a woman.   LOL   I prefer Bean for my stuff; it lasts long and fits well.    We have a retail LL Bean store near us (not an outlet) and a catalog service based in Japan which I use.

Yes, it started pouring last night here. Wasn't sure if I was going to make it down the two flights of stairs at DN's. But it stopped pouring long enough for me to get down them. It's been raining all day here. Supposed to basically rain all week here.

I read something awhile back about the history of frequently used expressions and that was one of them. It was something about how animals used to bury themselves in the straw roofs to keep warm and when it rained, the animals would fall through the roofs.

I'm so thankful for a warm, dry house. And a TV!wink

It's raining cats and dogs here. I feel bad for the fans at the game.cry

I find the history of that expression interesting. Do you?

I never looked into it chef.

It's just one of those old expressions that I've heard, since I was little.smile

I read something awhile back about the history of frequently used expressions and that was one of them. It was something about how animals used to bury themselves in the straw roofs to keep warm and when it rained, the animals would fall through the roofs.

I just looked around a little bit, chef. The theory of animals living in straw roofs got debunked.

Here's a link: http://www.phrases.org.uk/meanings/raining-cats-and-dogs.html

Dead animals, floating down the street during a flash flood, sounds more reasonable, to me.

Took Grandma back home. She did really well tonight. She is forgetful and will ask the same questions a few times. But she remembers who we all are, knows what we all do and where we live, etc. She just can't remember if she already asked you if it was an easy drive on the way in, or if you caught bad traffic. I don't mind her repeating herself a few times, but it drives my parents crazy. They see her more often than I do though.

She tried to get me to have another baby!! She told me I did such a nice job with the two kids I have, that I should have another! I told her I was closed for business. Lol. I had a feeling when we dropped her off that the next time I see her, she won't remember me.

That's cute.  But sad that she won't remember you.

Yeah - she is taking that pill for seniors with memory problems. But she can't remember to take it all the time!!! Kind of funny. She still knows what is happening now and has all her wits about her. I just have a feeling that the next time I see her that won't be the case.

She is 88. Her husband died 3 years ago. She has lost her tether to the outside world. They did all kinds of things together but she refuses to do anything without him. She has been going downhill since.
