I worry when my parents drive across the country. I make mom text me every so often.

Good morning all! I'm tired of turkey already. Tonight we'll go out for sushi. Tomorrow I'll make turkey and sweet potato frittata then freeze what's left.

I used to love driving...Did 2 or 3 trips from Indy to Hilton Head by myself. Now the stupid panic attacks won't let me.

In the car with DH, DD and the dog. Saying goodbye to mom, dad and other DD was not so bad because I knew we would see them for Christmas! They are all flying in to our place.

14 hours in the car ahead of me...think happy thoughts for us all.

Mine aren't to the point that I think I need meds (yet), but I do see where they might worsen if I don't make a conscious effort to breathe and change thoughts, if that makes sense.

Morning everyone! I slept horribly last night because my brain would not settle and DH would not stop snoring.

My brain was because we bought a car last night and I was up most of the night trying to figure out why they gave us a higher interest rate than advertised. Especially since we both have excellent credit (well over 800). I may try to get the loan thru the bank anyway. We were there for four hours and came home starving and exhausted.

This is a stock photo of my new pretty. I will get better pictures later today when the sun comes out.

Personally, if they gave a higher interest rate than offered, I would walk out. But it might because you are financing for 4 instead of 5 years?

Tell them the rate at the bank. You should be paying under 2% for a new vehicle. That is one pretty color!

4 years is cheaper than 5 years. The shorter the loan, the less risk to the finance company, hence the lower rate though.

Right, cheaper for you, but with a longer term, they make more money. So they try to entice you into a longer loan by offering a lower rate. They might be offering the lower interest rate on longer term loans only. Just something I've observed when buying cars.

Rate for all types was for 60 months, the difference that I read was the money off. But the rates listed were 0% with $750 off and 1.9% with $1750 off. We got the $1750 but they are trying to give us a 3.39% rate. I was just so tired and hungry that we signed it. Can we change that? It's been less than 24 hours. We have excellent credit. Probably should have gone thru the bank.

Don't know if you can change it. Maybe buyer's remorse? That's what they do...take forever and wear you down. You could check with your bank or credit union and see if you can refinance. Check for any early payoff penalties, too.

DD is getting on my last nerve. She can't find her keys and keeps walking through the kitchen which is completely cleaned up and her keys would stand out.

I think you have 48 hours. The laws in your state may vary and the dealer may try to tell you something different in order to keep the sale.

I would not have stayed at the dealership for 4 hours. That is a long time. It has never taken us more than 2 hours to buy a car - and that's a stretch.

Great car! Congrats! You took that deal because you were exhausted and hungry. The dealer knew that. Better read the fine print to see if have any recourse. My advice is to pay it off as soon as possible.

I love road trips. It was 16 the first time I took off on one. Mom wanted to go shopping in Boaz Alabama. Dad said get in the car and off we went. And they sat in the back seat.

Mom and the kids are going out for a late lunch and shopping. It'll just be me and Monster. Peace and quiet. For a little while anyway.

Kids go back to school Monday.

Hard to believe December is next week.

Dealer contacted financier and got them to honor the 1.9% financing. They said it was supposed to be an either/or misprint. I showed them print outs from their website as well as Hyundai's that stated AND only. It helped that DH and I both mentioned "deceptive practices", "bait and switch" and "misrepresentative advertising".

Then we stopped for cookies at the really good Italian bakery. No pictures there either as we devoured them.

One of the Dodge dealers here tried that.

I qualified for zero interest but they said because of my age they couldn't do it.

I said fine and left.

They followed me to the car trying to get me to buy the car.

I had DD's BFF come over, DD is at her father's. We online shopped for Christmas gifts. So DD is getting the winter jacket and fashion boots she wants plus some great outfits. I'm sure her BFF is back home texting DD right now! I have already bought her the "big" gift, headphones, plus will get her the iTune GC and others.

Pretty much done for shopping except for my family yankee swap and a couple of friends.

My day has gone to hell in a hand basket. This morning Carlee had a seizure and I ended up washing all the bedding. And towels. So that means four loads. I got Marilyn's birthday presents wrapped and was in the middle of wrapping my SS gifts when she had another seizure. So now I have two more loads of laundry and the dogs are getting bathed.
