I can't find the old thread!

We got the outside big tree done yesterday.

Just in time of the big snow!

How are your preparations coming along?

My trees are all decorated as is my table. DH did the front yard. We still need to hang wreaths in all our windows. I need to do a couple more displays here and there and I'll be done. A couple gifts arrived over the weekend so I need to wrap those as well. I have a few more things to buy, too. Other than that....

I usually do the outside lights the weekend after Thanksgiving.

But, we were rained out.

I'll try to get it done later this week.

I won't start on the inside until Sunday, at the earliest.

Maybe. We'll see.wink

Stockings are hung, wreath is on the door, main room Christmas tree is up, elf is here, and table is set with Christmas linens.

I need to find my gingerbread houses and put those out in the downstairs kitchen, and I need to do the family room tree.

 Ok, fine!

Both trees are up.

Ice theme tree in the living room. Polar bears are playing on the ice on the coffee table. The small nativity is on the side table. A tin snowman looks down from over the tv cabinet.

Traditional red and green natural / woodsy tree in the den. Lighted garland on the mantel, Christmas cushions on the hearth, Santa, his sleigh and Rudolph are in the woodbox, big nativity is on the coffee table, candles are set around.

Main bathroom has a small tree and nativity.

Outside are the happiest Christmas birds you've ever seen. An owl, penguin and Sid the Christmas flamingo are partying down with Gus. They have a very shiny silver tree and light up gift boxes and 4 of the big Christmas lights to dance around.

The mailbox has candy canes and Christmas greeting stakes around it.

Need to get a wreath for the door.

Haven't started decorating yet. Probably will mid-week or next weekend. I will have a little helper this year. I cannot wait till Christmas Eve. We're going to do the putting out cookies and milk for Santa thing starting this year. Also going to have him hang his stocking on Christmas Eve and we'll fill it after he goes to bed. He asked Santa for money so maybe we'll get a box and put some money in it for him.

We have 2 big presents for DS on layaway and some at home. Thankfully, he's not old enough yet for the surprise to be ruined if he sees his gifts (and he has). Frankly, though, when he is old enough, he will be informed that if he'd like to be surprised then he ought not snoop around. If he doesn't want to be surprised, then he can snoop away with full knowledge that we will not be buying more just because he snooped.

I can't wait till he's old enough for Elf on the Shelf. Maybe next year.

We do rice Krispy treats for Santa.

Use cookie cutters and decorate them with colored icing and other fun things.

Why not?

I have put a small one in our big bathroom several times. Long counter, plenty of room.

I don't either.  My mom has family photos on a table in her main bathroom.  I always found that a bit odd too.  I don't really decorate my bathroom with anything other than a colorful hand towel.  I do have a cool picture in my master.

It's awesome! When we're out and about, we have to go by the Christmas trees. He loves looking at the lights and touching the trees. We have to stop in at one of the Christmas tree farms so he can explore.

I would love to but we will be able to visit using facetime.  I've been to see them twice this year and it is such a long flight.  They are coming back to live in the states in July and I'm so excited.  I am happy that my gd got to experience a different culture and I do hope she will remember it as she grows older.  The little one will not remember it at all though.  the malls there has dancing elves and all kinds of events.   The funny thing is it is 90% muslim where they live and they play Chirstian Christmas music in the mall and other shopping areas.

He had a really skinny angular face and you could tell it was just a fat suit with a really bad beard.  He was slouched in his chair pretending to hit a little train with a hammer, but the slouch was soooo off-putting and his facial expression just said "don't bother me".

I was Santa last year. The highlight was when one little girl didn't want her picture taken with Santa, so her aunt held her and sat on santa's lap holding the little girl.
