Work was fine, but there is a Lead who is actually complaining about all the hours I am working????? Seriously fella? Do ya think I want to work all these hours?? What an azz.. Thing is, when you work on gov't contracts, you have to charge every last fking hour you work, regardless if the company pays you OT or not. Ironically, this same Lead always complained about the lack of quality in the work of the 4 people who previously held my position. Does he want it bad? Or does he want quality?

The local high school held a career day today. My company had a table at the fair. It was fun to talk to all the kids about what we do. The ones who actually paid attention were all like, "really? Wow that's cool!" I said yes, it is really cool

the rest of the day sucked, but that couple of hours was fun

LOL, job fairs can be eye opening to all of us who have worked for years. We forget how young and stupid and in awe of grown ups in the work force we all once were. smile

Yessssssssssssssssssss. Story. When we were little my grandparents had a "fairy" house that visited us in the middle of the night. We would wake up in the morning and there would be a magic letter in invisible ink. My grandmother, the doctor, had to hold the magic stone in her hand to read the letter. Then she'd give us clues to where the fairy left our surprise. Looking back on all those surprises they were all things the drug companies had given her! We were too young and dumb to know or care.

My second Hello Fresh box arrived today. I'm really glad I signed up, it's good food and easy to make. Tonight I'm having tortellini gratin with kale. I wasn't so sure about the kale, but I'm really enjoying it....too much. It makes enough for two people. And I've eaten it all lol. Whoops

So, my good deed for the day. The other day this lady was giving away some ornaments on one of the free sites. People were snapping them up. I REALLY REALLY REALLY wanted them BUT they were heirlooms and I didn't think she knew that. I told her some of them were worth a ton of money. She said they were old ones her grandma had given her. I recognized some of them from when MY grandma hung up ornaments. Some were handmade. Some had real dove feathers. I told her not to give them away. She decided to take them back to her grandma and ask her about them. She found out that they were, indeed, very valuable. Now she just has a few of the new ones to give away. And she's letting me have the first pick of them! She's so nice. I feel bad. I'm glad she didn't lose the valuable ones. I'm glad I was honest.

Awwww, so this lady just contacted me and said of the leftover ornaments I could have whichever ones I wanted as a thank you. So sweet. She had a set of little drummer boy ones that I asked for. Really super nice of her!

The "bombing" attacks in the air make it look like the 4th of July. Flairs all over the place. It really is amazing to watch.

There were a bunch mixed in together. I don't think she even realized what she had. I recognized some as being ones like MY grandma had and I'm 48. Even if they don't have monetary value they have to be worth something sentimentally. She ended up getting rid of the ones not worth anything!
