I have a winter shelter solution for "other kitty". My mom suggested one of those covered litter boxes. She even has one she'll give me because her cats didn't like it as an actual litter box. I just need to buy a fluffy bed to put in it.

Happy birthday to your DD LGS.

On the news front SS's mom says she is divorcing her DH. She had him served once before and then changed her mind. Hopefully this time will stick. He's going to prison for awhile apparently.

Jeez, it never ends.

Not in that house it doesn't.  I love my SS dearly and we would love to get custody of him but the courts just don't see it like it's a danger.  And it's worse now that she's getting a divorce because the courts will say that she's putting her life on track.  She'll just get another loser b/f.    She's always had loser b/f's.  And yes that includes my DH.  She married him when he was a full blow drunk and divorced him when he got sober.  He wasn't "fun" anymore.  Anyway, without DH working right now filing for custody is moot anyway.

Her DH is on probation for beating her up two Christmases ago.  We took custody of SS for a month so she could heal and hid from him.  He beat her so badly he tore her calf muscle and knocked teeth out.  He took a shot gun and shot the house up and then held the kids and her at gun point.  When the cops finally got there he kicked in the window of a cop car and kicked one of their mirrors off their car.  He was arrested for domestic violence but already had pending drug charges.  He was put on probation for the domestic violence charge because they begged him to take probation because they planned on putting SS on the stand.  A ten year old giving testimony in court is pretty powerful.  On the drug charges he gave up his dealer and they dropped the charges.  But he has to stay out of trouble.  He recently got in a fight and ended up in county.  His mom bails him out every single time.  This time is a bit different.  He has two daughters, besides the one by SS's mom, from two other women.  He hasn't been paying child support and was 25,000 behind.  They caught him and threw him in jail.  His mom had to come up with the whole 25,000 to bail him out.  She is dirt poor so we have no idea where the money is coming from.  However, because he broke his probation he will go to prison now.

He was supposed to be taking SS to some fancy dinosaur exhibit this weekend.  We weren't going to have SS.  He was so excited about the dinosaur thing.  We're going to have to plan something fun for him.

What! How in the world did he get off with probation only for ALL of those really terrible things?!

Husband got three years probation and it cost us more than 5k in fees and the attorney and everything. Because some a hole said he scratched his car. No proof, just the accusations and the fact that we couldn't have a felony (car scratching!) on Husband's record.

How the hell do you beat up your wife, shoot up a house, and kick a cop car with drug charges pending and then walk away with probation??!

We just got through talking to SS and his mom. SS has broken yet ANOTHER phone. First he stepped on it and broke the screen. THEN he left it on the side of the bathtub and it fell in a tub full of water. So when I say he's not responsible with his phone, trust me, I mean he's not responsible. Anyway, back to the story. She seems pretty certain she's going to divorce him this time. Before she always said it because there was some big blow up or fight or something. This time she just says she's tired of everything. She's tired of living like this. She's talking about moving. And the town she's talking about moving to is right next to ours. If she puts SS in school there it will literally be a five minute drive to get him from school. We're hoping that works out. She was taking them out to dinner. She told us they don't like to eat at home so she takes them out every day for dinner. Her words. Those kids are gaining so much weight from all that crap. Hopefully things will work out. But she does like dysfunctional men and if she doesn't change that she'll just pick another one. I feel sad for SS because he lives in this deluded world that if his SD was gone life would be perfect. His mom would never be cranky, overworked, tired, or anything else.

Wow NJN. Glad she may be really serious this time. I hope she doesn't have to pay the legal bills and palimony!

No palimony here! The divorce should be pretty simple and cheap.

Toddler concoction #482: BBQ chicken, BBQ beans, mashed potatoes, and cherry tomatoes all mixed into his milk.

I know he thinks he's cooking but he squawks "HUNGRY!" after ruining his food. I hope this stage passes quickly.

He doesn't get more food when he does this. Not sure why he thinks this time will be any different.

Unless it involves candy. DH promised a piece of his Halloween candy after dinner and the little stinker remembered.

This is so weird. I've gotten two emails from Century Link about my internet service. Thing is, I don't have Century Link, never even heard of them. The weirder part is, the email address is {first name}{last name} at gmail dot com. And my email address is {first name}{dot}{last name} at gmail dot com.

I don't get how I'm getting these emails

No.  Ice helps but it makes me really cold.  I'm going to see the doctor on Monday.  DG thinks it might be a bone spur.  DH's ex said the same thing.  Hurts like hell though.

Does heat help?

Nah.  Rolling it on a frozen water bottle helps some.

I read that link. At first it started out like that. But it's not getting better. Only worse. And it's more concentrated in my heel now. I don't know what it is but it hurts like hell and it's time to have it checked out. I figure they'll x-ray it. I just want the pain to go away.
