Good morning, Good Geeks!

Today would have been my Dad's 105th birthday.

He's been gone 25 years, and I still miss him.cry

Oh well, at least I have great memories!smile

On a lighter note. Paul finished his exams.

He's on his way home for Christmas break.

It will be nice to have him around for a few weeks.smile

Thanks FNW, he was a great Dad!

Paul won't start classes again until January 19th.

Plenty of time to have some fun, before he goes back.smile

What year is Paul (in college, I mean)?

I only have 2 kids, but I love interacting with them as adults. Luckily, we all have a slightly warped sense of humor.

I'm getting a haircut today. I can't believe I cut off all that hair to donate not too long ago and it has all grown back.

Well, I went and looked and it has been 2 years - it doesn't seem that long.  I cut it off in December 2013. But, I've had haircuts in between.

Good morning everyone!

Yes, it is still morning here, barely.

The tree is UP!

Have to train the kitty to stay out of it before decorating. May take awhile..

DS1 is up, talking to his GF in England (she's studying there).

I had a pork bun for breakfast and am now eating ice cream.

Saw the news about a police officer in the area who was struck by a driver last week while giving a ticket. He died today. He was the son of a former co-worker.

My mom used to open the shutters in my room to wake me up. I will open the boys' blinds, very slowly.

Here's a bit of advice:

I haven't seen that story but I don't really keep up with the news.  I'm sorry to hear he died.

FWM sorry about your Dad. I know you miss him.

We finished all the shopping for our families yesterday. I'm so excited. We got each of the kids two new outfits and and a new pair of jammies. We got them each two toys. I have so much to wrap.

I worked a bit this morning. One of the docs baked us a treat. It was brownies with a layer of marshmallow fluff and then a layer of fudge. Was so sweet, just had a tiny square. Just got home from a funeral. Sad, but beautiful.

Was it real Marsh mellow fluff? Or the fake cream stuff?  The real stuff is made right outside Boston, and dang it!  I forgot to put that in my SS gift.  Grrrr

Ok so I have a really good dishwasher. A Bosch. It is airtight when shut. The problem? Because it is airtight and thus no airflow, in between washings it stinks. Blech. I mean makes me gag. I try to keep it propped open slightly but it isn't enough.

Vent over for now. now that I have it running a load.

Well, today was productive. Got DH's birthday present, DS' Christmas PJs, and planned out the stocking stuffers. Have to order most of the rest of the Christmas gifts tomorrow. We're giving my parents, my grandma, and MIL magic mugs with DS' pics on them. When you pour hot water into the mugs, the pics show up. We're giving my uncle a beer stein with DS' pic on it. He loves spending time with his nephew so I can't wait to see his reaction to the stein. Not sure about FIL. He has yet to appreciate any gift given to him and has insulted all of them. Not just from us but from his other son and DIL, wife, and mother too. We figured out what to DH's grandma but I can't remember what it is.

Gonna finish decorating tonight after dinner. We're making mini-pizzas. Also, have to take inventory of my wrapping supplies.

In other news, DH got called the n-word today. Very interesting considering DH isn't black nor does he have dark skin. Something else interesting happened too. I got complimented on my singing by an older man but I hadn't been singing at all. I thanked him anyway.

Run a cycle with vinegar. I've read that works. Never tried it myself though.

Yeah, I hear that but I can just do a quick rinse too.  Just don't want to run it when I am not doing a real wash.  The real wash gets rid of the smell.  It is only when dirty dishes sit there for days that it starts stinking.

 No, but...

Confession time:

We drove to a beach almost at the end of the road. Winds were high & the beach was closed. The guys stood far away & I walked on the sand to the waves. I dipped my toes into the water AND the lifeguard blew his whistle at me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
