They were. We thanked SS profusely for playing with the two year old. We told him it was sweet of him to occupy the boy.

It was. I bet SS had fun playing with him too.

OMG We had the BEST time. So, we took one of the mom's we adopted out for pizza. She has a one year old girl and a two year old son. She's 23. She works in a wholesale shop. She is uber sweet. We took them all to Chuck E. Cheese's. The kids were actually a little bit too young for it. But it was a kid friendly place. The one year old nommed on pizza until she had put away two good size slices of pizza. SS took the two year old off to play. We thanked him so much for watching the little boy so his mom could have a break. We all just sat around and ate and talked. She's super sweet. We had brought the kids stockings in when we were waiting on the pizza because they were getting a little antsy because the wait was so long. The little girl took out her little elf, hugged it, and gave it a huge kiss. So sweet. They went through their stockings and found the oranges at the toe and were so happy. The looks on their little faces were priceless.

I don't know what she was expecting from us. I had just told her we wanted to buy the kids a few presents. After dinner we pulled our car next to hers and opened the trunk. We pulled out a box of presents and the two year old's face lit up. He grabbed one and was so excited. Then we pulled out another box with a bunch of canned goods. We had bought her a ham and basically all the stuff to make a Christmas dinner. Among the canned goods were cake mixes, eggs, bread, potatoes, sweet potatoes, and milk. She told us that she couldn't thank us enough.

Then DH took out the double stroller and she started crying. She said, "IS THAT FOR ME?" And we told her yes. DH was showing her how it works and the two year kept hollering RIDE RIDE RIDE and trying to climb in it! The mom was just standing there crying and saying thank you. She said now she's going to be able to get out more with the kids.

The whole thing just really made my day. We left feeling so good. Just seeing her so happy was fantastic. To bring joy to someone's life is amazing.

 That is so awesome!

I agree!

What a great day!

And fantastic memories, for all of you.smile

 Can't wait!

Now I need a good sourdough starter. I had the recipe for the Hermann starter but lost it.
