 And to me, that is sad, not something to be proud of. I wanted my children growing up around people of all faiths, of all races, of all nationalities and beliefs. This is such a big world, it's senseless to only expose them to people exactly like themselves. I wouldn't want to live somewhere like you describe, but I am glad you like it. 

Oh, and the only time it was ever an issue that my DD was an atheist was at a sleep over when she was 12 and the mother informed my DD that she was going to hell for not being baptized. How very sweet of her to tell a 12 year old that her sould would burn in hell for all eternity. Seems to me she could have used the opportunity to talk about Jesus' love for her, but NOOOOO! Better to scare the crap out of a child. Needless to say, I wasnt pleased.

 Pride is irrelevant and has nothing to do with anything. I stated a fact. I wanted to raise my children in a Christian community.  One with family values and great schools. They are world travelers, thanks to my husbands occupation,  so they have experienced much more than most kids have...
