Maybe you should pray that your kids DO get hurt....what with adversity growing your faith, and all.

I'm not blinded by worship of any imaginary friend.
If that makes me a sad person, so be it.

It's funny really, how many people tell me I am unaware of the real world.  I am most certainly aware.  I've traveled, I am friends with people all over the world.

And yet you have no concept of how a lot of people live. It boggles you, you think it's insane.  How about YOU expanding your world and realizing that not everyone thinks, believes or acts the way you do.  You come across as one of the most narrow minded people I've ever encountered.  What you don't understand, you call names.   It's quite easy to see through your love and tolerance crap.  You are part of the problem...

We live in a imperfect world. Bad things are going to happen. We take risk and sometimes suffer the consequences of the risk we take. I don't believe on minute God causes the injuries. I don't. You go in and take a chance playing in a ruff sport and you may get hurt... Like driving at a high speed you might get in a wreck and get hurt. God does not always protect us from the consequences of our actions. He does provide strength and encouragement and from experience in my life healing. In my life during the hardest times when I Prayed it gave me strength to carry me through it. When my sister died Through Prayer God comforted me. Faith is a assurance of things unseen.

I have no beef with you, Lindley. I'm glad you found comfort in your faith.

That being said, I think it should be a private matter and not in the public sphere. Especially domains which are paid for with tax dollars.

We have churches that hold services in public schools. We have churches that use parks for Faith Day. Our own Congress opens each day of session with prayer. The president hosts a prayer breakfast every year.

It's always liberals who can't believe that prayer is still held at public events...and that Christianity is the norm where I live...oh, and that I carry a gun.  That's another on that freaks them out...

Good grief, people. The law is very simple - the school cannot endorse or interfere with religion. Students can pray, the school cannot promote prayer. The school can tell the teachers not to promote prayer because they are employees. The school cannot interfere with student led prayer. The cases on this on clear and numerous.
- Lawyerlady

Absolutely.

By the teacher participating it can be seen as endorsement by non-Christians. Even if it's not, the perception is still there.

There's also the "a teacher is doing it so I'd better do it or I might get into trouble" aspect that a non-Christian kid might feel. Kids are taught, almost to the point of it being brainwashed: "Follow what the teacher does".

It was rather serendipitous. Last night, Lisa Ling's show "This is Life" was about Detroit's unveiling of the Baphomet statue. She was interviewing the Christian protesters.
Some said "I'm 100% behind freedom of religion....as long as it's Christianity."
- weltschmerz

Unfortunately there are a lot of Christians with that belief, They give all of us a bad name. Freedom of religion doesn't exist if you don't have a choice or it's forced upon you. That's the part many forget.

Our individual right, Yes.

However they removed the ability to force it on others via any governmental entity, and by proxy the people working for governmental entities while they are engaged as representatives of governmental agencies have also had that ability removed.
