My boyfriend got a call from his mom about two and a half hours ago that his dad--who has cancer--was not answering his phone, and would he please go check on him?
He left, and I have not heard anything.
Dad was abusive, bf got put into foster care for a while because of it. They have never been close, but lately, they have built a tentative relationship, amd they were going to work on tractors together next week, amd do a house project.
I am trying to decide if I should call or not. He hate hate hate hates it when I call when he is with his family.
But, damn, I am worried. I did not know him well, only let him once, but I am worried for my bf's sake.

He is always on edge around them, always tense. There is a novel of bad history between them. He is trying to forge a new relationship, and they seem to be trying too, and he just hates being distracted when he is there.
I don't mind. He sees them very rarely, so it's not like it interferes with our time together ir anything.

FINALLY got a hold of him, did try to call, he didn't answer but texted me that things are okay, and not to worry.
Told him that I would have liked to hear that three hours ago, but better late then never.

Holy cow, crying here. DD's friend who came with us told me her mom is pregnant. They had been trying for years, gave up, and became fosters, and she is 3 months pregnant. I have been sworn to secrecy but will start shopping. I am so happy for them!
