If anyone is good at finding out where a veteran is buried, please PM me. DH and I have a dear friend who is a veteran and we just found out she died back in April 2015. Her "family" isolated her from her friends and we lost contact.
I believe the Gov't keeps a registry. Look on the services' website; if she was in the Air Force, look around on their site.
Yeah, that's what I was going to say.
Sorry to hear about your friend.

My uncle passed last night as well. Mom just called to let me know.
I'm sorry, Czech.

Over the summer, some birds took up residence in my chimney. We never got around to checking it out and cleaning it out. Which means that right now is the perfect day for a nice fire and I can't build one :(
Well.... you could.
But it might not be the best idea.

But, I don't think Conor and Jessi will wait too long, once they get married in May.
2017 might be my year.
2017 is gonna be my year too!

Do you know what section of the site I would go to? I looked on the Air Force's site and didn't see anything related to burial site info but I could've missed it.

They are probably gone now.

I don't. How about googling cemeteries in the area her family is?It is public record. Don't be surprised if there isn't a burial site. Cremation is very popular now.

Well, the birds might be gone.
But their nest is probably still in the chimney.
DG would be smart to wait, until they can clean it out, before she lights a fire.

Exactly. I tend to shy away from things that will burn the house down. My parents might kick me out if I burn their house down.

I believe there is a site called findagrave.Com or something like that.

I found the mortuary they had her funeral service at but no mention of where she's buried or her ashes interred. It's possible her family could've kept her ashes (if they went that route) but I doubt that. They didn't give one rip about her and viewed her as an inconvenience.

Couldn't find her on it. The mortuary site had her listed LastName FirstName so I searched both FirstName LastName and LastName FirstName. Nothing came up.

Costs money to intern ashes. If the family is as you say, they probably kept the ashes, maybe spread them.

It's 39 out there. It's supposed to be going all the way down to 26 tonight.
Can we fast forward to Spring?

Eh what's a house fire every now and again.

As a veteran, don't they cover that though?
No, there is a supplement I believe but only for a married member. Not clear on the details. They can be buried in Arlington but there would still be a cost to the family for the funeral and casket.

My kitchen is torn apart while DH paints my cabinets. Cooking is going to be annoying.
DD1 seems to have developed a toddler attitude overnight.
Did you take the before pics?
As soon as you posted this I realized that I didn't! But we put our house on the market for a short while last year, so I went to search for those pictures- which I deleted. So I went to google to see if any would still show up- a few did, but none of the kitchen. Then I found the video tour we had done, so I paused that and took screen shots! I will post as soon as we get it done.
Back from our mini vacation. Had an amazing dinner out, followed by...well...ringing in the New Year. 😉 Then this morning we went to brunch at an amazing place DH found in the cutest neighborhood. We need to take DD there sometime - they have chicken and waffles, her fave! Came home and DD had cleaned the house, including the kitchen! What a good girl!
Now I am using my Insta Pot to make her a whole chicken and potatoes and carrots - separately. But still pretty excited about giving it a whirl. If it works out, I think I am doing beef stew on Monday. Her BF is coming over and I would like something easy.
