Why would we want to spay or neuter flan?

Doesn't seem like a good idea. hmm

Bob Barker used to end every Price is Right show with a PSA to spay/neuter your pets.

Oh, and NAOW, the blanket you sent me is so soft. I brought it to the hospital for my dad. He's napping under it right now.

He hasn't passed it yet.  He's in constant pain.  And he's a man so you do the math.  I started a paper with a med schedule today.  I didn't do that yesterday and I have a feeling he took too much medicine.  Every time he has even a pang he takes a pill.  I hope he's not OD'ing.  The doctor told him he could take motrin for breakthrough pain but he's taking that fast and furious too.  I'm going to watch his pills closer today.  He's not sleeping well and that means I'm not sleeping well.  Thanks all.

DG, I hope your dad gets better fast. It sucks to be in the hospital. Tell him your friends are praying for him!

We're doing okay. I need a normal night of sleep back. So if you could call the sleep fairy that would be great! I'm monitoring his fluids. All he drinks all day long is coffee and the doctor told him to knock it off. He gets two cups a day now instead of his regular two dozen. I'm really trying to push the fluids. The more he drinks the quicker he'll pass it.

I'll get on the horn to the Sleep Fair, asap!wink

Yes, keep pushing the fluids. That's about all you can do, other than keeping track of the pills.

I sure hope he's feeling better soon.

LOL  No.  I doubt that will help but it sure would be funny!  We have to see our primary doctor tomorrow or the next day for more pain pills and also these pills that are supposed to dilate his ureter to make the stone easier to pass.  Plus she is going to have to send us to a surgeon to get his gallbladder out.  They told us his gallbladder is a ticking time bomb.  He is also supposed to see a urologist about the remaining stones but he's already seen one in the past so we kind of have one already.  We don't know anyone to do the gallbladder surgery.  I want him to get the gallbladder surgery done asap.  One, we've already run up the medical bills so soon our insurance will be paying it all.  Get it done now while they pay.  Two, if he does it as an "elective" surgery it will be an outpatient thing.  Like having your tonsils out.  And I'd much rather have him do an outpatient thing than wait for the whole damn thing to explode and have to be in the hospital several days.  So we will be making a lot of appointments in the next couple days.

Hey Czech!

Talk about exciting...we raked 7 bags of leaves out of the backyard this afternoon.

That's on top of the 10 bags I raked up a couple of weeks ago.

And my stupid monkey ball tree, still has a few leaves on it.cry

Darmit! I want to be done raking already!wink

Two dozen cups of coffee a day? Holy cow! Did the doctor tell him that all that coffee is probably the reason behind his stones?

Different minerals in the body form kidney stones. The most common type of stone is primarily formed from calcium oxalate. Oxalate is found in caffeinated beverages, such as coffee, cola, and especially, tea. It’s also found in many foods such as chocolate, spinach and nuts. Consuming these foods or beverages in very large amounts, especially if you are not consuming enough other liquids, may create the conditions for kidney stones to form.

Yes, the doctor did tell him that. But the doctor followed it up by saying he loves Diet Coke so it's hard for him to lecture a patient.  He did say I was right about cutting out so much coffee and he said to limit it to two cups a day.

OK, but the doctor probably isn't drinking two dozen Cokes a day.
Furthermore, caffeine is a diuretic, not to mention it's bad for the heart.
I hope he gets better soon and can kick the habit.

OMG!

I just called DS1 (in Chicago) to wish him luck tomorrow. He's starting a new project. I thought the TV was on...people were screaming & cussing.

NO, he was on a train & there was a fight. He said, "Mom, I gotta get out of here."

I'll text him in about 10 minutes.
