A Jewish-Israeli junior at a high school in New Jersey became the center of an uproar on Twitter yesterday after she live-tweeted a trip to the principal’s office. According to her own secret recordings, it all started because of the sixteen-year-old’s anti-Zionist tweets.
So, how much freedom of speech are people allowed these days? I don't find any bullying in her tweets. Just unpopular views.
If that was anti-muslim, anti-black, anti-gay, it would be called hate speech.
So when is Freedom of speech ok?

I would think that, regardless of the subject matter, tweeting a meeting with the Principal is against school policy plus tweeting anything during school is probably a violation. Yes, our schools practice violations of the first amendment.

Why can't she tweet about a meeting with the Principal? Do kids sign a confidentiality clause?

When was the last time you were in school? You can't do things like that. It would be similar to when I was in High school and if I wrote a note about having to go to the Principal's office; I would have been given detention.

I went to a liberal arts high school that took free- speech and civil rights pretty seriously.
