Has anyone started watching this show?  It's a ten hour series on Netflix only.  DH and I watched it in two days.  Very doable.  I don't want to put any spoilers out here yet.  Just wanted to see who else might be watching.

I watched the whole thing in one day. The Saturday after Christmas. Once you start, you can't stop. It really bothers me what happened to this family.

I may watch it this weekend.

The whole thing is horribly sad. The poor family. I have heard there is enough evidence to prove he did the second crime. HOWEVER, that whole investigation was so botched. So horribly botched. There is no way I could have convicted him.

It's funny how they won't say what that is.

The key thing bothers me the absolute most.  You can't find a key, in plain sight, after three long days of exhaustive searching and then it mysteriously turns up?  Not buying that.  The other thing that bothers me is that if he is so guilty you would think those police officers would run away from that investigation at all costs so as not to taint it.

There was so much that bothered me about this documentary. Especially what they did to his nephew Brendan Dassey. I don't think that kid is guilty for one second. It's disgusting how they questioned him and his first attorney Len was a total douche and should have never been allowed to represent him. He was not defending him. He wanted him to plead guilty when the kid was telling him he wasn't, that he made the whole thing up because he thought he was going to get to go home and to school. When the judge asked him why he wanted a new attorney and Brendan said it's because he thinks I'm guilty and that's denied! WTH kind of place is this???

Oh, Brendan did nothing. Wrong place wrong time kind of thing. They found out he took mail to Steven and it was on like Donkey Kong. Having a child with aspergers DH and I sat there with our mouths hanging open. Our son would have done the same thing. We are thinking about making him watch it. Len got disbarred over that stunt! That's how illegal it was. He was a public defender who just wanted to be done with the whole thing.

Yeah, there is so much wrong with this. As a nurse, if a patient accused me of something, I would make sure I didn't go in their room again. I would never be around them again. These police knew they had a history with this guy, a dirty history, and they jumped at the chance to get back in. That screams revenge to me.

And tell me how in the hell you can search a two bedroom mobile home for three days straight and not find a key in plain sight?

How can there be no blood if it happened how they say it did? No DNA if they supposedly both raped her? Where are the restraints? What was the motive? He was about to get a big payout and he had a girlfriend he appeared to love. Why did he sound so normal in the 2 recorded phone calls they have that day if he just raped and killed someone? It's just all wrong.

The prosecution basically said in closing arguments, so what if the key was planted?  They mentioned that possibility, but so what?  He's still guilty.  Unbelievable.

Yep.  He supposedly raped her and shackled her to his bed in chains.  But not a mark on the bed.  No DNA on the sheets or mattress.  No blood.  He supposedly slit her throat but they have no idea where all the blood went.  They have five blood smudges of hers in the back of her car.  SMUDGES, not pools.  Nothing about this adds up.

What upsets me is that people still don't understand why some people mistrust police. And if this type of misbehavior happened often to a lot of people in your town, you might not ever call the police or trust them. You might even run from them if they approached you and you had not done anything wrong - because you have seen what the police can do to innocent people.

And people do not understand why some in underserved communities don't trust the cops. This is a shining example of why.

DH says he was probably guilty but they didn't have enough evidence so they just planted some of it. Maybe not all of it, but enough to tip it over the edge. Either way, whether he did or didn't do it, it was shoddy police work from day one.

We're watching it again right now with SS.
