 Hey!!!!   Long time no argue.wink

I thought it was good.  I think in a way almost a better match between the dark mood and the lyrics than the original--but don't get me wrong.  I love Simon and Garfunkel.

Wow! I actually liked that interpretation. True to the music, but the visuals were awesome, giving the song depth.

As much as I love Simon and Garfunkel, that was great.

I like it too.  He had big shoes to fill that's for sure.

s & g have such an incredible sound--arguably the best duet act ever recorded--even now, still strong and beautiful

their " concert in the park " in front of a 300kplus crowd is phenomenal--available on youtube--live and without autotune--the real deal

That's ridiculous.

If you are familiar with the lyrics of the original, the darkness of this interpretation fits it very well. Plus the video medium which really wasn't available when S&G recorded it.

Now THAT is ridiculous.  He has a great voice.  Maybe not Elvis--but they've sold a lot of records.

You don't have to like him--but that doesn't mean his voice is "terrible".

I don't like Taylor Swift, Mariah Carey, or Whitney Houston--but were their voices "terrible" just because someone doesn't like them?

Yes. If you don't like the way someone sounds, to you, their voice is terrible.

Oh for crying out loud. Just because you don't like someone's style of music, or even the sound, does not mean their voice is "terrible".

I really liked the remake. The original too, but I like seeing artist's perform other artist's music. I think it's neat to see the different takes.

Some are good--some are not good.

The 10,000 Maniacs version of Because the Night is a GREAT remake.

I actually thought his voice was bad at first, but I continued watching it and his voice really sounded good once he got into it.

Oh, husker, I was hooked from the first image, and it just kept getting better & better. The anger in his voice, the images...perfect combination of words + pictures.

Amazing!

Meh. Cashing in on someone else's song because you think your image is "dark" has to be done even better than the original. Now Johnny Cash doing his version of Nine Inch Nails "Hurt" is how the real artists do it.

I know what you mean, Tiny.

When Brooks and Dunn did a remake of "My Maria", in the mid 90's,  I thought it was even better than the original.(And, I love the original, from the early 70's.)

And, I don't even like country music. biggrin

Tough to beat S & G, but I thought this was almost a heart wrenching, well done version of the song....which is dark. I chose the original for my brother's funeral many years ago, will always give me chills.

Good to see you, Pepper! Sorry for your loss.

It seems like it's either a love or hate relationship for this song version.

Sue them for making paul simon money.  That makes zero sense.

I remember when Whitney Houston redid Dolly Parton's "I will always love you". The song sold millions of albums and won an award that year. When Dolly accepted, she thanked Whitney for making her gobs of money.

finally got the video to play--interesting graphics--this guy's upper register sucks--he's straining above a C or D and the original goes well above his natural range--he's no garfunkel for sure--the dystopian graphics/video treatment are well done/dark--overall, his vocal performance is wrong for this song--too strained
