Based on your explanation that it just about who we vote in, we got "the government that [we] deserve" when {then, Senator) Obama was elected.

I disagree that we all deserved him. Only those who voted for him deserved the damage he has wrought. Everyone that didn't vote for him is an innocent bystander.
