The closer that it is to the way God made it, the better it is for you.

Where do you get your vegetables in Canada?

if you say you only eat fresh--then you lose the right to say you care about the environment.

It takes an enormous amount of fossil fuel to keep fresh vegetables and fruits in northern climates year around.  We can do it, but there is a staggering environmental cost.

 Lufa Farms.

It takes an enormous amount  of energy for canned or trucked-in food. Maybe I should just stop eating altogether and live on tube feedings.

Will that please Your Majesty, or will that still make me a hypocrite?

it takes a LOT less energy to transport canned food.  First of all, it can be grown locally and canned So it doesn't have to be shipped as far.  Even beyond that, it doesn't require refrigeration to transport.  It can be stacked more easily so more fits on the truck.

Canned food still uses fossil fuels for energy.

Maybe I should just off myself, in order to reduce my carbon footprint.

I get a lot of my vegetables from Lufa Farms, which are massive rooftop greenhouses right here in my city.

Greenhouses use an incredible amount of fossil fuels if they are in northern climates.

you can eat what you want--just quit bragging about how small your carbon footprint is.  It's more like clown shoe size.

Well, what do you suggest I eat? Only seals I went out and clubbed myself?

I have to eat SOMETHING.

I do the best that I can to reduce my carbon footprint, but I have to eat.

You can't club the baby seals, naked PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) protesters will gang up on you.

On the plus side though, clothed PETA (People Eating Tasty Animals) members may come to your defense, so you might make new friends.

I have to club seals.

Evidently, even though we can't grow much up here in the winter, eating anything from a greenhouse or anything trucked in means I'm a hypocrite.

At minus 30, I'm not going out nekkid. Although, it does make washing the seal blood off much easier.

Does seal blood work like beet blood? Just wondering if it would help the ice situation?

Not even a little. It's very slick, then freezes. My dog team seems to like it, though. It's hard to get them away from it when I hitch up the team to go to the trading post.

Just so I can get a clear picture of what's going on here...  Do you dogsled naked or do you wear the seal fur to the trading post?

That's fair.  As long as the neighbors don't see you all is good!

Where's the fun in that? It's not scandalous unless there's peeping toms!

The neighbours are all freezing or sweltering with me, so we're all in the same state of déshabillé.

It's VERY hot in the summer and VERY cold in the winter.

We're a hardy people.

Again, you can eat what you want to.  Just quit bragging about your small carbon footprint--which isn't.

However, in the winter, eating canned rather than fresh veggies would reduce it--and that's something yiu CAN do.
