Glenn Frey, a founding member and guitarist for Eagles, died Monday. He was 67.
“It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of our comrade, Eagles founder, Glenn Frey, in New York City on Monday, January 18th, 2016,” the band said in a statement. Glenn fought a courageous battle for the past several weeks but, sadly, succumbed to complications from Rheumatoid Arthritis, Acute Ulcerative Colitis and Pneumonia. The Frey family would like to thank everyone who joined Glenn to fight this fight and hoped and prayed for his recovery. Words can neither describe our sorrow, nor our love and respect for all that he has given to us, his family, the music community & millions of fans worldwide.”
Frey wrote and provided vocals for many of the Eagles’ hits, including “Heartache Tonight,” “Lyin’ Eyes,” “Tequila Sunrise” and “Take It Easy.”
The musician, with Don Henley, also co-wrote “Hotel California” and “Desperado.”
DH and I watched the Kennedy Center Awards & The Eagles were scheduled to receive an award, but the band members said they were declining the award until Glenn felt better & could accept it with the rest of the band.
One of the greatest musical acts of all time. All great musicians which cannot be said for most music acts in the world of American idol that we've become.

Well, I could agree with you--but then we'd both be wrong.
A flock of flirting flamingos is pure, passionate, pink pandemonium-a frenetic flamingle-mangle-a discordant discotheque of delirious dancing, flamboyant feathers, and flamingo lingo.

Yeah, like that disturbed guy with the hardware in his face.
the hell freezes over tour was amazing--their appearance in Melbourne ( on youtube or cd ) had to be one of the best live performances by any band ever--frey and henley were ( and are ) such perfectionists--always true to the music--you hear it on the album, you'll hear it at a live performance
though never the singer henley is, frey was a great player and a great performer--sad that he's gone
rip

Faith isn't something that keeps bad things from happening. Faith is what helps us get through bad things when they do happen.
So sad... They are a great band. Went to one of their concerts a couple of years ago and they were fantastic. They are a great band. You don't see anymore bands like we had in the 70's or 60's.
