Oh...and wheat/flour/carbs...those are some of my favorite things. I am Italian. My DNA has carbs all over it.

I'm a bread junkie. We have a French bakery on just about every corner. I couldn't give up buttery croissants, fresh baguettes and hot-from-a-wood-burning-oven bagels.

Nope, couldn't do it.

 I hate you...sincerely & without apology...

Well, come on up and visit. You can go to all the French bakeries, pastry shops and hand-made chocolate shops you want.

Our cheeses aint too shabby, either. We make over 300 kinds of cheese.

Did someone say cheese?  My bus will be in at midnight.

You're more than welcome to visit, NJN.

The fromageries are phenomenal.

There are endless options for food lovers who want to spend their leisure time eating and drinking in Canada. But cheese lovers would be hard pressed to find a better destination in North America than Quebec.

Once known primarily for its cheddar and Trappist cheeses (most people in Canada have sampled a slice of Oka), there are close to 300 varieties being produced in the province today. With their own names and distinct regional characteristics, cheeses such as Le Migneron de Charlevoix, Pied-de-Vent and Lechevalier Mailloux have garnered international accolades as well as top prizes at all three of the Canadian Dairy Bureau's competitions. Quebec's best cheeses are renowned for their high quality and diversity, including varieties made with raw cow's, goat's or sheep's milk that are comparable in style and taste to France's illustrious fromages au lait cru.

Lol! Yes, a cheese shop.

It would be SO EASY to put on 72 pounds in 4 months if you're not careful.

My favourite cheese, Le Pied de Vent is 27% fat. Small portions.

Nah, that's not cheese. Handmade cheeses made in small batches by Trappist monks is CHEESE.

Handmade cheeses from a single herd grazing on clover and grass, with no antibiotics or hormones is CHEESE.

We'd better stop. She's not allowed to have dairy on the cleanse.
If you like, there's an actual cheese tour of Quebec, where you can visit farms and the ateliers where the cheeses are made, with taste-testing and wine pairings.

I know we export small amounts of OKA cheese, made by Trappist monks since 1893. It's the most famous.

You can probably find it in a specialty store, when you can eat cheese again. It's lovely.
