I had a weird dream about DH1 & I can't shake it. He was alive & kept acting like he had just been away at work.

Yeah, he just kept following me, trying to hold my hand & I was mad at him. I finally woke up & looked at DH sleeping, right where he was supposed to be, but it didn't help.

I work the late shift tonight.

 Good question.

I don't know, but the dream was so real & I wonder why I dreamt that & what it means.

I love having dreams about my deceased loved ones. It's like I get to see and talk to them again. I remember saying goodbye to uncle in a dream when he was dying of cancer. He took my hand and we danced, with my aunt smiling and nodding in approval. He was living in WA state at the time, so although I was unable physically to see him before he passed, I feel like I did.

Snow here. Not much, but enough to close the schools.

FNW, are you in the "blizzard zone"?

I dream about my grandparents from time to time.

It's bittersweet isn't it?

I can understand that, flan, since you have remarried.

Yes, we are in the zone, lily. We received a little last night (less than an inch) and yet the schools are closed. Ugh. Tomorrow night the blizzard is supposed to hit, leaving us with 18-24 inches I believe.

Good morning everyone!

It's raining and 45 here.

I don't think it's going to get any warmer today.

Our power failed at 6:17am, and just came back on a couple of minutes ago.

Talk about a boring morning.cry

I knocked my crown off my implant flossing last night. I have a dentist appt this afternoon to have it re-cemented. And I think I'm getting sick. Yesterday I woke up with a horrible sore throat but it went away so I assumed it was from the dry heat running like crazy but then it started to get scratchy & this morning it feels worse. I am off all next week & really don't want to be sick. Not that anyone ever wants to be sick but it will really annoy me if I burned vacation time when it turns out to be sick leave.

The schools probably didn't want to have kids on buses if it came in early.

I'll be praying for ya.

Working today. Weather is not too bad out there. Overcast with a high of 36. Snowmageddon is not supposed to start until Friday night after 6:00 but I need to get a few groceries tonight - Pray for me. I just need the basics of our normal grocery shopping - bread, eggs and fresh produce. I can make my own bread but the rest, not so much.

Stay warm and healthy.

FNW - Inside NOVA just sent out an alert that VDOT doesn't want anybody on the roads tomorrow even before the snow comes. Are you working from home/snow day tomorrow? My boss just gave us tomorrow off. The plan was to work & then leave as soon as the snow started but we assume that is exactly what VDOT is trying to prevent.

A little bit better. Still have a sore throat and an earache. Thanks for remembering.

Lexxy, hope you feel better. It stinks to be sick, especially while on vacation.

Hope all of you in the heavy snow zone out east stay safe!

We have had lite flurries all morning... eh, it's January.

Felt good enough this morning that I started putting blocks together on the new quilt. 8 done, 12 to go. I love it when I can start laying the pattern out and see what a new quilt will look like. smile

DH looked at it, and asked if we would be able to use this one. I said, no. He grumbles, and asked why I was making it if he couldn't use it (like my dad's quilt). I said, well, it's for oldest DD. I got the sideways glance.. lol

I think he wants a quilt.

Yep, Bucks County, right between Phila and Trenton.

PA side of the Delaware is forecasted to be 14-16" but not even a mile from me in NJ is supposed to gte 17-20".  Still too much and very thankful we have a snow blower.

For a while about two years ago it was one crown after another.  I haven't had any problems since.  I think it was Trudy who had tooth issues more recently.

Czech I'm glad you are feeling a little better.  When each of us grandchildren were born my grandmother made us all our own baby quilt.  I assume my mom still has mine because I don't have it.

We have a fireplace, but it draws (cold) air from outside to vent. So really, it doesn't provide any heat. The plan is to convert it to gas and install an insert which will make it efficient. My parents did that in their home and enjoy nice warmth from their fireplace, without using electricity, just gas.

Wow, I hope your mom does have the quilt. What a treasure that would be for you!

I have the one my mom made for me when I was born. I used it for our oldest DD that first winter, then put it away. Age makes old quilts fragile and I wanted to preserve it for one of the grandkids.

I need to turn it into a wall hanging..

We have a deductible that we have to meet before the insurance will pick up any of it. I think it's $1000. We met that the night he went to the ER. So now we just have to pay twenty percent of all the bills. The surgery is going to be about $1200. But that doesn't include lab work, anesthesia, anesthesiologist, or the surgeon's bill.
