We have a deductible that we have to meet before the insurance will pick up any of it. I think it's $1000. We met that the night he went to the ER. So now we just have to pay twenty percent of all the bills. The surgery is going to be about $1200. But that doesn't include lab work, anesthesia, anesthesiologist, or the surgeon's bill.
Yes. A lot. We only have to pay the actual hospital bill up front. Everything else we can pay out.

FNW - Inside NOVA just sent out an alert that VDOT doesn't want anybody on the roads tomorrow even before the snow comes. Are you working from home/snow day tomorrow? My boss just gave us tomorrow off. The plan was to work & then leave as soon as the snow started but we assume that is exactly what VDOT is trying to prevent.
One year, after many frustrating years of getting stuck in traffic, I decided that I would leave work before the first flakes fell. I was teased about it on one particular storm when I left the office while it was still sunny out and not snowing. By the time I arrived home, it had started. I turned on the news and all those people that waited until the storm started to leave work were stuck on the roads for hours and hours. ha!

Yes, I'm working from home tomorrow, as is my DH. The hair salon is closed tomorrow (I was able to get it done today). Schools are closed as well. The governor declared state of emergency and the national guard has been called. Humvees to rescue people.

Our governor has issued a state of emergency again.
Government offices will close at noon.
Of course there has been no word from the schools.

Winter advisory for all the counties surrounding us, but not us. That's kind of funny. The weather is going to just ignore our county?
Maybe that's where the heat miser is being held captive.

DS has an ear infection. Again. He only ever has 2 symptoms when he gets an ear infection - a distinctive dry cough and a low grade fever. He was coughing earlier and I noticed he was flushed when he woke up from his nap so I took his temp. Yep. Low fever. His pediatrician was already closed so I took him to Urgent Care. Yep. Ear infection. Amoxicillin twice a day for 10 days.
I really hate that he's inherited my tendency to get ear infections. I hope he grows out of it like I did. At least he can take amoxicillin. I'm deathly allergic to it.
If he keeps getting ear infections the doctor will probably suggest tubed.
They really helped Jesse.
Hope your son gets better fast.

I asked her about tubes once. If memory serves, the guideline she goes by is more than 3 ear infections in a 6 month period. He's not at that point.
I would've been a great candidate for tubes as a kid. My parents said I had at least one ear infection every 2 months.
Thankfully, he's a fast healer. Ear infections don't phase him anyway. He's happy as can be and acting like his usual ornery self. The only time he really got knocked on his rear by sickness is when he got a bug and pink eye at the same time.

He thought so! He finished his dose then opened his mouth for more.
