Thanks! Seems like just yesterday in some ways. Other ways not. Wouldn't trade him for anything.

Happy Anniversary!
I've been sick all weekend, so sick that I haven't gone in to work. Picked up a GI bug.
I was so dehydrated, I couldn't walk. My foot, calf and hand muscles were cramping up every time I'd move, from potassium depletion.
When I wasn't puking, I was screaming.
I would have gone to the ER first thing Monday morning if it hadn't abated. By ambulance.

I wasn't even able to hold down a teaspoon of Gatordade.
Then I remembered how effective pot is for nausea and vomiting in chemo patients.
Just the thought of smoking anything would start another spate of vomiting, but I forced myself.
Ive been able to down 2 cups of Gatorade since then, so I think I'll be OK. Feeling much better. Still have the cramping, but that will go away the more I can drink.

Yay for Peyton.
Sorry you were ill, Welt.

We're still snowed in. They sent a single axle truck in to try to dig us out. After spending 3 hours on one street, he gave up and said he was going to request larger equipment. Duh.

Yuck, FNW. I hate being unable to go.

My biggest problem this morning is a frosted over windshield.

Van is running. Maybe it won't be long.

Snowing here this morning. The really big flakes are coming down. Looks beautiful, but we know the drill for after it's over. Ugh.

Happy anniversary NJN.

Welts, gosh, you were sick. Hope today leads to more improvement.

Started putting the body of a quilt together this morning. Banging my head against a wall while the quilts sits in the time out corner.

It's the opposite of husbands. Men always think they're dying.

Nurses are convinced they'll pull though. There's an old joke about nurses' tombstones.

The inscription will read "I'll be fine!! Leave me alone!"

Yes, I can hold down fluids. I'll try to tackle some soup later on this evening.
I need a bath desperately, but I'm still weak and shaky. My son will be home later so he can supervise and make sure I don't drown.
Potassium depletion can cause cardiac problems and so can hot water. Put them together.....

A warm shower, maybe?

My son's been coming by regularly to check on me, bringing me Gatorade, ginger ale and feeding the cat.

I don't have a shower. This is a weird little house. I do have a massive, antique claw foot tub, big enough to have parties in.

Sending healing thoughts, Welts.

Happy Anniversary NJN!

Fred is a cutie and will eventually sleep thru the night. Hopefully.

Czech, I am envious of your quilting/sewing abilities. I can barely sew or crochet a straight line.

Flan, stay warm

Our driveway was cleared yesterday. Most of the main roads are pretty clear around here. Side streets could still use another plowing since they have turned to slush and will refreeze overnight.

Going to check out a few gun ranges. DB wants us to buy one of his guns and we want to make sure we could use it around here without spending a fortune. Where DB lives, it is mostly farms still so there are plenty of areas to target practice.

We will finish running errands IF DH's problem employee would leave him alone. DH is working from home but PC is IMing him with stupid questions like "should I do this or that" Dude, make a dang decision. You work alone at that facility, you do not need to run to your supervisor for every decision.

Thank you, jlbear. Today you might not admire my skills so much... I sewed a whole row of eight blocks together without thread in the bobbin.

Yup, the seamstress is an idiot today.

I could have kicked myself...

Glad you are dug out of the snow!

But at least you can thread a bobbin.  That is why I failed that part of HomeEc.  Teacher took pity on me and had me hand sew a square pillow.  That is the only reason I passed sewing in HomeEc.  Cooking, that part was easy and I blew most of the rest of the class away.

I sucked at Home Ec. Thankfully, it was only one quarter. I was much happier in wood shop and did well at that.

We didn't take home ec or shop. Weren't allowed if you took honors classes.

Today was my first day in my new position. One of my peers who became a subordinate bought me a chocolate cupcake to celebrate. Screw the cleanse. I ate it and loved every minute.

I went to a huge high school. Really big. We had a daycare there and an auto body shop. You could take child development and then you had to put what you learned to use. People could also bring their cars in for oil changes and things the guys were learning. I loved the cooking part of home ec. Go figure. And I loved sewing even though I rarely do it anymore. I think the most valuable thing they taught me in sewing is how to make your own pattern. I have free handed so many clothes thanks to learning this.

Wow! FNW that is a lot of snow. Hope you get to feeling better weltschmerz , it is no fun being sick.

Njn, your school sounded a lot like mine. We had a child development class and we got to go to pre-schoolschool in the area and help out for a couple of hours the first semester and 2nd semester we had a pre-school on campus for a couple of hours. It was fun.

Yeah, it was more like half a day for the kids.  I think it was probably a mothers day out program type thing.  It wasn't all day for working moms.  And it, obviously, didn't run all year round.  It was fun though.  We had to plan nutritious snacks and educational games for them.

Home Ec was taught in our Junior High which went thru 9th grade. High School was for grades 10-12. I only had it in ninth grade and missed having it in earlier years. I went to Catholic school thru eighth grade.

We had child development in high school which was the same as NJNs. Most of the 15 kids there were children of students. The children stayed the same but the students changed every two semesters (we had 4 semesters per school year).
