Hopefully today will be better today for Carlee. She's been seizure free for two months and then had five in one day. We're going to call the vet in the am.

They grow up so fast.  One day you're wanting them to grow up a bit and before you know it they have and you wish they would be little again.

Sorry to hear Carlee isn't doing well.

Lindley, 30? You're not old enough to have a kid that age.

Ugh. Another seizure. She couldn't walk really well when she came out of this one. We'd take her to the emergency vet but they'll just tell us to call our vet in the am. And then they'll charge us a couple hundred dollars. Been there, done that.

You seem like a good mom Lindley. I'll bet you have fantastic kids.

karl, the caucus is in Iowa today. Both DH and I will be waiting to see the results.

She had two more so we took her to the emergency vet. Ugh. $200. They wanted to keep her over night just to give her drugs. We told them we could do that here. They doped her up with Valium. Which is great. But not enough to actually sleep! Now she's just like a drunken college frat boy stumbling around. DH had to carry all 70 pounds of her. They gave us more Valium to give her rectally to get us through the night.

Fingers crossed this week is better than last. But I don't have high hopes. I got three emails yesterday from our accounting manager asking about mistakes he found from when the woman was doing transactions. Sigh. And I woke up in the middle of the night drenched in cold sweat. That's never happened before, it was so weird. I turned off my electric blanket, so then woke up freezing.

Very sad. He had just retired a year or two ago. They are raising their grandchildren. Her son died (drug related) a couple years ago.

Thanks, FWM. We are doctoring ourselves up as best we can. Today is chicken noodle soup day. We need the hydration. DS is really glad I am here to help them out. Momma feels bad though. She feels like she dumped on me and getting sick was my reward. She has been so busy at work, that I got most of the babysitting duties. But, that's what happens when both parent work.
Little man have enjoyed our time together. Two months without seeing them was way to long.

Carlee has been seizing about every two hours for for 24 hours. No one got much sleep. We took her to the emergency vet. They gave her Valium. She seized as soon as she got home. DH ran her into the vet this morning and he gave her some phenobarbital and Xanax. She seized when she got home. He's back at the vet right now. The vet says if we can't stop the seizures that we may have to take her down to Texas A&M college to the school of vet medicine and leave her for awhile to get her seizures under control.

NJN, hope they can get Carlee figured out

FNW, That is sad about your coworker

Czech, Flan, lily and DG, healing thoughts and vibes

Lindley, I hear you on the kids turning 30. DSS will be 30 this July. I am not ready for this. I am only 44 myself but that makes me feel much older.

Weather is nice out. Mid 50s, the sun was shining but it is cloudy now.

Busy, busy day. Stripped the beds and started laundry before I ran errands this morning - took electronics to recycling, cashed in change at the bank, returned stuff to walmart and had a really, really good burger for lunch at a nice historic restaurant with a river view. Working on finishing the laundry and mopping the floors this afternoon. If I finish early enough, I may head out and help with the Lodge's project of making up meals for Aid for Friends (similar to Meals on Wheels).

Leftovers for dinner. Probably early to bed for me tonight.

Went to the doctor last night, got a stronger antibiotic after chest x-rays showed fluid in the bottom of one lung (pneumonia). At least everything else looked normal, I think my last chest x-ray was .... maybe never.

And she prescribed a stronger cough medicine, benzonatate.

I felt pretty good this morning, took care of a customer issue, ran a couple of errands, then started drowning on the way back.

I do NOT like drowning. Took Sudafed in the car and coughed for 45 minutes in the Costco parking lot, before I felt okay driving home.

I love my job, one part of that is, no one knows whether I'm working.

Have they give you a shot of steroids?  Sounds like you need them.

You should have had the chest xray weeks ago.

And you need mucinex or some other kind of expectorant.

They didn't give you an inhaler?

Be sure and completely fill and empty your lungs, take long deep breaths and exhale long and slow.

You've got to get rid of this before you end up in the hospital.

Not sure if I said this or not so if I did I'm sorry.  My brain hasn't had much sleep.  She had about eight seizures in a 24 hour period.  She had been doing so well up until then.  They had decreased to about one a month and then recently we went without one for two months.  Then yesterday hit and she just went crazy with them.  DH took her to the vet this morning and he put her on phenobarbital.  He gave her a shot to start her off.  We also have two injections we can give her if she has another seizure.  We will be giving her the pheno daily from now on.  She's finally settled down.  She ate and drank some and now is sleeping.  She's worn out.

This day has taken a horrible turn. One of Baby J's classmates died today. She had a medical emergency on the playground and the kids had to get the teacher and they life-flighted her to the hospital but it was too late. We don't know all the details of what happened - a seizure was involved. DD11 tutors her on Wednesdays. Both kids are not doing well. School went into lockdown and there will be counselors there tomorrow. I'm trying to distract them with a funny movie right now.
