A friend of mine who worked at a clinic said that daily, they got calls from protestors who wanted to utilize the services of the clinic for either themselves or a close family memeber and would ask how the clinic could help them get past the protestors without being noticed.

I certainly agree that some people are not capable of arguing without turning nasty. When people are trying to make a point and lead off with statements like "your reading comprehension sucks" or "what are you dumb?" Or "that's idiotic" it certainly doesn't advance their position any. All it does is stir up animosity.
