Lol! Youre classic Welts. You like to use Christianity when it suits your needs.
I didnt realize religious affiliation was a required answer on an abortion medical form.
Seriously - how would they even know that?
In a survey released Monday that was sponsored by the pregnancy center support organization Care Net, researchers from the Christian research group LifeWay found that about 70 percent of women who had an abortion self-identified as Christians, while 43 percent say they attended a Christian church at least once per month or more at the time they aborted their child.
The survey, which interviewed 1,038 respondents who've all had abortions, found that 20 percent of the respondents attended church at least once a week at the time of their first pregnancy termination. Six percent said they attended church more than once per week, while about 54 percent said they rarely or never attended a church.

The number of people who protest outside the clinic one day and use the services of the clinic the next day are laughable. A friend of mine who worked at a clinic said that daily, they got calls from protestors who wanted to utilize the services of the clinic for either themselves or a close family memeber and would ask how the clinic could help them get past the protestors without being noticed.

You know, just because you say it, doesn't mean you live it.
Merely pointing out that good, decent, conservative, church-going women are sluts, according to some.
No. You are not.
See, many people will say they are Christian because they have been told their family is.
Or they say it because they show up to church around Easter, Mother's day or Christmas.
But a lot of the time, they don't even understand what that means.
If they did, they wouldn't be having sex out of wedlock.

Hahahaha!!! I worked for LifeWay for more than 15 years. I wouldn't believe it if they said the Earth orbits the Sun. They are THE most profitable non-profit in the country. And they just sold all of their assets because they are bankrupt. No one trusts them anymore....

If a woman wants to be so in charge of her reproductive rights, start by doing everything you can NOT to get pregnant until you want to.
That goes for everyone, regardless of everything.

Well, assuming the letter in Dear Abby wasn't fake there was that one letter that someone posted here about just this very thing. A lady who protested clinics and then had an abortion.

All the studies show that people are only in favor of abortion in certain instances - rape, incest, life of the mother, and if it effects them personally. They don't think OTHERS should have abortions, but believe the option should be available to themselves.

Bullschit. I didnt abort DD never even considered it. I dont believe in any of those reasons to abort. My niece was raped by a cab driver. She had the baby and gave it up for adoption. We dont kill innocent babies...

Lately I'm having a hard time finding a thread to enjoy here at TG without a fight starting. What's up with that? Do you (collective "you", directed at both sides) really think you can change someone's mind by arguing? And if the answer to that is "no", then why are you arguing? Is it enjoyable?
I think a board where everyone agrees about everything would be incredibly boring.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with a good debate.

I firmly agree, Lily. But a good debate cannot turn nasty and still be classified as a 'good debate' in my book. I'm just asking folks to think about what they're saying. So what if the other 'side' has the 'last word'? Drop it before it gets nasty.

Um, yes.

I certainly agree that some people are not capable of arguing without turning nasty. When people are trying to make a point and lead off with statements like "your reading comprehension sucks" or "what are you dumb?" Or "that's idiotic" it certainly doesn't advance their position any. All it does is stir up animosity.

It's interesting that some members think that the pro-life people are the ones that keep bringing it up, when it's almost always the pro-killing people. There are more pro-life here, so it may seem that we harp on it, but it's RARELY brought up by us. We are usually the ones responding to a comment...

Pro-choice is not pro-killing. I just wanted to clarify that. Some of us that believe in choice fervently hope the choice will be for life.
Not everyone that has an unplanned pregnancy is a slut. I'm not saying that women don't need to take responsibility for their reproductive health but honestly, I had an unplanned pregnancy and was married.
And before you start screaming about abortion, no, I didn't abort. It wasn't the right choice for me. My only point is that saying that unplanned pregnancies only happen to sluts is not truthful.
But it makes Conservatives feel righteous to think that, apparently.
flan
I had an unplanned pregnancy. I didnt kill my child. I took responsibility.
Normal people dont kill their kids...
I had my child too. But to say I was a slut because I had an unplanned pregnancy is just not true. I was married at the time. Unplanned pregnancies happen to a lot of people.
Agree. But most the ones that are aborting are sluts using it as birth control. Thats why women that have abortions usually have multiple abortions...
"Normal"...
And I know you WANT to believe that most women are using it as birth control...so keep calling names.
I would not presume to judge for another woman. I can only make decisions for myself.

Liberals name call all the time. If you dont' like Obama's policies, then you are a racist. If you disagree with gay marriage then you are a 'homophobe". A climate change denier. A birther. Blah, blah, blah.

p.s. I realize that I'm not always successful, but for some people, it's their motus operandi.
