I'm leaning towards the Panthers since my dd and her family home base is in N.C. and my SIL is a big fan. I'm not doing anything since my husband is out of town so I'm going shopping.

Shopping is good! DN and sparkly are coming over. We're going to have some snacks. Then take SS home later. Probably during half time.

I have no idea and I don't really care!  For me it's a day to do something fun with all my kids.  I'll use any excuse.  We'll pull out board games and card games and snacks and just have fun.  I enjoy spending time with my kids.  Even when they drive me nuts.  My SS has been so super sweet this weekend.

Is it Sunday already? I have to get out early and buy hot bagels. Spouse hs to take a shower, and our kids are coming over this afternoon for a double birthday celebration.

WE are rooting for the Broncos (Peyton Manning is the QB, welts). Manning used to play for Indy, and he is a great athlete & a good person. The Mannings are a football dynasty, of sorts. Peyton's younger brother Eli is also a QB for the NFL, and dad Archie was one as well.

But the Panthers looked pretty impressive in the playoff game, so I'm definitely nervous.

flan

p.s. welts, if you ever make it down here, we'll take you to see a Colts game. The energy from the crowd is infectious and it's tons of fun.

Thank you but I find football incredibly boring. It takes a half hour to play four minutes of football.

If you ever make it up here, I'll take you to a hockey game.

I'm torn who to root for. I really like Peyton, but Carolina has been playing such wonderful, pure football all season. It should be a good game. I'm pretty annoyed with myself, I still don't have a new TV. Right after I decided I was getting one is when my dad had the heart attack, I want his help/input, but I didn't want to stress him out with it, so I haven't mentioned it. That combined with I have been so overwhelmed with work, I've had next to no time for anything else. Now it's a month later and Super Bowl Sunday and I don't have a good tv to watch the game.

I will be going into work for a bit. Hoping 3-4 hours will do it. I could stay all day, but I'm just going to focus on what needs done before Monday.

Then, I don't know. Maybe I'll get some chips or something for the game.

I kinda want the Panthers to win because they have never won a Superbowl. But then the Broncos beat the Patriots so I'd like to see them win. I just want to see a good game.

It is the best weekend for prices on TVs.  Maybe after work you could buy the TV but not stress your self by having to set it up today.  If you do, don't forget to buy the HDM cord, they are not included with the TVs

Do the comparison part at home online with dad and then just run to the store to pick it up without him.

I don't typically watch the super bowl on purpose. If it's on, I might glance up occasionally. I don't like football.

flan - the worst thing about living in Indiana was the Colts hysteria. They actually cancelled school in Ft Wayne  the day after the Colts won the super bowl. I thought that was ridiculous and sent a really bad message to the kids about the value of education. That stupid team was all anyone talked about all winter. It drove me nuts.

Weltz - I will go to a hockey game with you. Winter classic maybe??  I have never seen pond hockey in person but would love to. I am a Pittsburgh Penguins fan and I also root for whoever is playing the Flyers. 😊

Spouse was planning to go in the shower by 8:00 so she would be done before the kids get here.

She got in at 11:00, she takes 3 hours, the kids could show up at 1:00. We'll see how it goes.

The thing about getting the TV was that Dad wanted me to have it mounted on the wall. It's good to have the store do it because they guarantee the work. HOWEVER he has now decided that A) I should get a stand for it instead of mounting it (which was my leaning, but it's his house) and B) he's up for a road trip.

So.....we are headed north right now! I'll go into work tonight to get my stuff done. That's the great thing about my position, I have keys to everything, I can go in anytime I want

Yeah, guess I should have clarified that!  Will have to snow shoe later, took the dog out and just kept walking for a couple of miles,  Beautiful day.  I wish I could trust him to stick near me, would love to taken him in the woods, I could snow shoe and he could explore but I can't hold the leash and my poles too.

On the stand is good for now, but the wall mount thing is best.  I suggest a swivel; one that goes left and right and up and down.  Anything else and you will be disappointed.

I will keep that in mind. My dad designed the basement very precisely. The TV is already on a built in brick ledge which allows it to be seen from all points in the room without any swivel. It actually is a bit impressive his forethought
