I didn't say any different either. I own guns. Are you arguing just to argue? I also believe in responsible gun ownership. If you don't, that's OK.
You are projecting again. I am not the gun owner in the op. You are NOT the only one who is responsible gun owner and to think you are is pretty out there.
Oh i am "out there"? Except i am not the one leaving loaded guns laying around for kids because i happen to understand child development and understand that kids are kids.
First, my kids are grown and gone but if the grandkids come over the gun is locked up. Your scenario is not everyones' so get over it already.
Why are you locking the gun? Aren't your grandkids smart enough to not touch the loaded gun?
They are young (6, 4, and 2) and are not used to having a gun in the house. When they are older I will personally take them to the gun range and make sure they know all about guns. You can leave you kids in ignorant bliss if you want to.
My kids hunt and shoot guns. Nice try.
Wait. Your kids USE guns and you don't trust them with a loaded gun in the house? That's messed up.

And you can't even trust them around a loaded gun??? You make less sense the more yiu post.

Well, I could agree with you--but then we'd both be wrong.
OK - so you leave your 10 year old home alone (that is legal in most states). While you are gone, he takes the keys to the extra car and goes on a joyride, crashes and dies.
Do we now ban cars?
This argument gets more idiotic every time it's brought up.
flan
How so? It's the exact same thing. Kids are not supposed to play with guns. Kids are not supposed to drive a car. If they DISOBEY and do what they are not supposed to do - it seems the argument should be the same for both instruments.
What is the purpose of a GUN?
What is the purpose of a CAR?
flan
They are both tools. Neither one can be used without an operator. And I consider SELF DEFENSE to be just as important as toting your butt to work or the mall.

I don't hand them the keys to my car. Or a bottle of alcohol so not sure what trust has to do with it. But, i priortize safety. Maybe you don't.

Just like a crossbow and a skateboard...
flan
So what? The incidences of those getting killed by cars is much higher--but you don't give a crap about those.

I'll take the crossbow, thank you. Skateboards are horrible - thousands of kids get hurt on those every year. Yet, haven't heard of one crossbow incident.

who is "handing" anyone anything? That is a stupid comment. I can sure as heck keep liqour in the cabinet and my keys on the table without worrying about something bad happening.
