DH just walked in with two GINORMOUS fully opened yellow roses from his garden. Perfect butter yellow, with a blush of pink on the outer edges. He's an absolute keeper! I'm so lucky!

Holy cow!  Most guys have to buy them, and your's grew them for you!  Yep, definite keeper.

Roses from the garden smell better than hothouse roses, too.

 Yeah.

Last time I renewed mine, it wasn't an option.

Big change in plans just after my post. I spent the afternoon with DHs cousins wife and MIL is spending it with us. I love her but hate her timing.

The bandaid on my nose is annoying me. Why is there a bandaid on my nose? Because DS accidentally hit my glasses and removed a layer of skin from my nose right where the nose piece for my glasses sits leaving a raw spot.

In other news, DH and I went to the Valentine's event at Church last night. It was fun! They had a yummy dinner (prime rib, chicken, shrimp stir fry, penne with veggies, kale and broccoli mix, jasmine rice, and dinner rolls + butter), an Elvis impersonator singing love songs, and a panel with some married couples giving marriage advice and sharing how they met. Really awesome evening.

Today was a bit drama-rific. FIL took personal offense at us not answering our phones during the event last night. He cussed out DH and told DH he was a bad son when DH called him after the event. My birthday is Wednesday and MIL wanted us to come over today to celebrate. That didn't happen. FIL purposely filled the living room and kitchen with crap so we wouldn't be able to come over. MIL is pissed and not speaking to FIL. DH said he won't go over to their house until FIL apologizes. We both love MIL so we'll go down there and just pick up MIL and go out. FIL isn't invited since he can't behave in public.

I had very good intentions of doing laundry today. Well, I got distracted somewhere along the way. Guess who's bed is covered with laundry and is sleeping on the couch?

Thanks to you it's been a really good weekend here.  Sorry your FIL was an arse.

My Valentine's gift from DH? The women's ministry at Church was covering half the cost for an upcoming conference for 5 women. One of the spots was still open today so DH signed me up :) He sometimes hates that I don't do flowers or jewelry like a lot of women and he knows I wanted to go to the conference so win!

I'm spending Valentine's evening/night with DS, Food Network, FB, and here. DS is busy cooking stuff in his kitchen. Works for me because Food Network has new episodes of some of my shows running back-to-back right now. DH is out with G. He's bummed about the crap with his dad so G took him out for some man-to-man time. G is a good listener so hopefully DH will arrive home feeling a lot better.

 Awww, I'm glad!

I'm not sure FIL knows how to NOT be an arse. I have an aunt who plays p/a petty games like FIL does but FIL has her beat. He takes the p/a petty crap to a whole new level. I can't wait to hear how much griping he'll do once he finds out I went to the conference next month. After all, it's not something HE'D like so obviously I shouldn't go.

And hey, I'd rather spend Valentine's with DH and DS than hearing FIL run his mouth. Besides, DH and I are putting off my birthday celebration till next week. We're going to Benihana and they tend to celebrate Valentine's all week. They do a different show for Valentine's and I want to see their regular show so we're waiting a week to go.

Oh I am! Worst Cooks in America is on now. Love that show!

They need to make a toddler cooking show. I'd love to see what professional chefs have to say about some of DS' creations. Especially ones like I posted a few days ago.

I love the Food Network, my favorites are chopped, Barefoot Contessa and The Pioneer Woman. I too would love to see a Toddlers competition. I think that would be so cute. I love how your little one likes to cook Chef.

I love The Pioneer Woman. I sometimes watch Barefoot Contessa. I love 10 Dollar Dinners with Melissa D'Arabian. A lot of what she makes is stuff that we already eat and I like seeing new ways to prepare it or new sides to serve with it.
