No problems with the temperatures here, but the fog! OMG the truckers were down to 40 mph! Not just pea-soup thick - potato soup thick! Plus the ijits that drive without any lights on.

Seriously, 20 is chilly, 10 below is cold.  With the windchill, it was 30 below today.

LOL!!!

Seriously though, the temps were going up but the real feel kept dropping.

And yeah, the hot flashes are horrid.

I just want on a nice, warm beach.

And ya'll know you do too!

I do miss the warm flashes I experienced during menopause in the winter. Mine only lasted 2 years.

I'm there, Lily. That beach looks inviting, especially around now.

When you're not use to it, 30 is just as cold to me as 0 is to others.

Yes, I am a wimp. A southern fried wimp.

It was 15 outside today. I debated on whether or not I needed a coat. I decided not to wear one.

I did have on a tank top, a long sleeve shirt, and a wool sweater. So I was plenty warm enough. A coat for a 15 minute car ride would have been overkill at 15 degrees. It was a heat wave!!

It was 29 this morning, the real feel was 38.

It's 39 now but it feels 24.

And the wind is gusting.

But I know why I'm so cold.

I have discovered I have a fever.

That's why I can't get warm.

I'm the opposite, I knew I had a fever a week ago when I walked outside in 10 degree weather and didn't think it was cold.

School delay tomorrow because some parents/kids can't dress warm enough for the bus stop.

The high tomorrow is supposed to be 36. That's at least double the temp of the past few days. I fully expect to see people outside without coats, with the car window cracked open, etc. It's going to be 2 1/2 times warmer than its been in weeks - people are gonna lose their minds!

We don't have school tomorrow.  It's Presidents' Day and the last day of Winter Break.  They had Thursday, Friday, Monday off.  The neighboring county has this whole week off starting tomorrow.

Rodent? It's so cold, our rodents don't even go outside! They take the subway.

It's winter. Winter = cold.

We got about 1 1/2 inches of snow last night. Hopefully the plows were out.

Schools here don't have Winter Break, unless it's a year-round calendar, I'm guessing.

In Indiana we started school around August 8 or so. I hated it. It was too nice and too hot outside for the kids to be in school. The school had air conditioning but they didn't go out for recesss because it was too hot. It sucked. And they didn't have a winter break there either. Just Christmas and Easter breaks.

When my boys were young, the township had an option of year-round or traditional calendar.

Year round would be the worst in my opinion. I enjoyed the summers with my kids. And who wants to be off when it's cold and miserable outside? Those are the days school was made for!!

I liked it. Kids get bored in the summer & lose too much of what they've learned. Our fall break was in November & the weather wasn't bad.

We start around August 1st and go to the week before Memorial Day.

We have breaks as follows -

1 week mid October
1 week Thanksgiving
2 weeks and a day or two Christmas/New Years
3-5 days mid February (some years it is a week, this year it was 3 days)
1 week early April

That's Spring break.

I think we started before labor day. I know it was before the end of August because our big family reunion is the 4th Sunday in August and we were in school by then.

I don't mind year round now.

Of course my kids are about done, so there is that.

I always thought it was a terrible idea for elementary schools.

Those parents having to find and keep sitters and daycare for the breaks.
