It was actually light out when I drove to work this morning! I unknowingly I fell victim to a bit of a winter funk, because that little bit of sunlight is making me feel so good
I'm dyeing my hair with henna today. I've got it all applied (soo messy!!) and wrapped in Saran Wrap and topped with a shower cap. The new cat keeps climbing on my shoulders to sniff my head.
Now to kill the next five hours.
My grey is really showing. I need to color again but I'm just so lazy lately.
I can only imagine what it would look like if I tried to color my own hair.
I don't get manis or pedis, but I have given myself permission to go to my hairdresser for highlights. I love her to death & the highlights hide the grey.

I use the kind that gradually washes out. I've had professional highlights before but after a while it seemed I had more highlights than brown so I stopped.
I haven't colored my hair for 10 or more years. It's a lovely more salt than pepper grey. I like it.
I did tell Caitlyn I'd let her put some fun tips in it this Summer. We'll see.
And now for the best news, I have all but lost my voice.
DG, sunshine makes a huge difference. Hope you can get outside for lunch. Get some more sun.
Morning everyone!

I dont color my hair. I want to go grey SO bad, but only have a few strands. I was thinking about actually dying it grey, but my hairdresser said my hair grows too fast, i would have to have it done at least every 2 weeks...:(

My foot is more of an annoyance than anything. I have an unbelievable pain tolerance, so that parts not bad. But having to scoot everywhere is getting old. And i have at least 6 more weeks of it...:(
But the itching!!!! Argh!!!!! The incision itches and i cant do a thing about it.

I got woken up to a dog yacking. And then discovered I have no coffee creamer. My world is off balance as I know it. I have been dying my hair since I was 17. If I were rich I'd get a mani/pedi every week.

Aren't you the pair! I hope he is okay.
I have never colored my own hair. I don't know if I could do it myself. At $200 a pop, I'm tempted.

Easy to do. Watch how they apply AND if you are on good terms ask what they use. They'll tell you.

The only time I had my hair done professionally, it fried my hair and it didn't last very long at all.
And I just didn't like it.
I always used the box stuff from the store.
Feria was my go to.

I use professional quality dye that I get at the shop for beauty people. About ten years ago they issued me a card saying I was a cosmetologist and I could get discounts. No idea how or why they did that. But I pay five bucks a year to update it and get the good stuff at a reasonable price. I've been doing my own hair for as long as I can remember.

Anyone can buy from there, but only those with proof of being in the school or graduated can get the discount.
That's how it is with Sally's anyway.

Well, I get the professional discount. Don't ask me how but they just issued me a card one day.

It only costs me $80 for highlights. I don't think she has raised her rates in years. I always give her a generous tip.

Yikes. $200? I pay $80, I guess small town life has some perks

Sheesh, I was going nuts because I pay ten bucks for my dye.

I live in a big city and never heard of paying $200 for a dye job. Usually $65-$80, and that includes the really high end ones.
I could go to Hair Cuttery and get it much cheaper, and I did for many years. But it was like pulling teeth to get the shade of red that I wanted. And the haircut left me working too hard to get it styled the way I wanted it. So on a whim, I had my hair done at the spa where I would get occasional massages, and I ended up getting exactly what I wanted. So I just kept going to her.

I've seen it be that high and I don't live in a metropolis.

OMG! My white stripe is bright freaking orange!! It was supposed to be red.
It says the color will "continue to develop" over twenty four hours. Will it turn red?!
I may need to see a professional.
This is what I get. I haven't dyed my hair in 10 years.
It's like opening a grab bag sometimes, huh?
Mine went orange on me when I was about 18.
Colored it before our vacation. Two days later, went swimming. Got out, took a shower, blow dried my hair and realized it was orange.
Another time, dyed my hair, fixed it, went to work. When I got out of the car, caught a glimpse of myself in the side mirror. It had the most amazing pink highlights ever.
Completely unintentional.
I actually liked it.

My coworker got her hair colored, it was supposed to be red highlights. OMG, it was purple! Thing was, no one said anything to her for two hours. Until I saw her and was like "holy crap your hair is purple!" She at first argued with me, until she looked in the mirror. We had a good laugh, and she fake yelled at a couple of people for not telling her lol

Heck...Super Clips costs more than $80. If I paid, my blow outs would cost about $300...

I should have gone with purple. Manic Panic is dependable. I wanted to try the all natural stuff.
After some more research, it is normal to be orange the first couple days. I really wish LUSH had mentioned that in their "detailed" instructions. I have to go out in public later today and tomorrow too.
If it is still orange Monday, I'm going to a salon.
Sheesh, I was going nuts because I pay ten bucks for my dye.
First-world problems, right? LOL
flan
p.s. For me, it is a HUGE splurge! I do it 2 - 3 times a year.
Definitely first world problems.
