This is a very rude thing to say.

I apologize.   I meant it to be funny.  I make jokes about Christians too.

Thank you everyone for your thoughts on this subject. I will think about it some more and maybe visit a couple churches.

I attended Meeting for the first time in a few months. (Often it comes down to a choice between seeing Itty Bitty & going to Meeting...)

Anyway, I thought of you during the Message (sermon):

It was about the difference between believing (in God) and belonging (to community, etc).

The former could easily be just words, while the latter takes time & energy.

Thank you. i will think about this.

Feel free to PM me if you want.

I find that I look forward to starting my week with a chance to reflect & clear my thoughts.

If I ever left the Catholic Church, I would probably see about becoming Mormon. Flame away, but I learned a lot about it in Salt Lake City and since then. Everyone I met seemed so happy, and they are very family oriented. And their temples are awesome.

So you would be willing to believe that Jesus and Satan are brothers both born in heaven on the same day? And believe that God was a resident of another planet who lived such an spectaculary godly life that he became a God for Earth? And if you do a bang up job here, you can become a god for another planet?  And if you baptize your dead relatives, they will leave hell and go to heaven?

Ok.....

Holy crap.  We agree on something again.  That's like twice this month and it's not even over.

Lol. LL agreed with me on something this month too. All I can say about that is, if you look closely enough, you might find that liberal minded people are not as insane and off the walls as you think they are. Not everyone who is for some liberal causes is for them all. Some people make up their own minds on each topic as they see fit!

If I was not Christian, I don't think there is another religion I could do.

Get your information on religion from the source, not the New York Times.  Watch temple of the God-makers.  It was done by former Mormons, one of whom was an elder (or whatever term they use) in the church.

at any rate, they are not Christian If that matters to you.

Yes, they do. If you don't think that's what they believe you haven't researched it as much as you think you have.

That is an article written by an ex Mormon that spells out each of the 13 tenants of the religion that they believe in. Read it. It's eye opening.
