BELLEVILLE, Ont. – Police have revealed a local woman accused of 36 sex crimes, including making pornography involving youths, is a teacher.
Jaclyn Lindsay McLaren, also known as Jaclyn (Jackie) Jones, a 36-year-resident of Stirling, Ont., was freed Friday on a $10,000 bond.
Ontario Provincial Police then revealed new charges and disclosed that she is employed as a teacher with the Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board.
McLaren is now charged with:
eight counts of sexual exploitation;
six counts of luring a person younger than 16;
six counts of making sexually explicit material available to a person under 16;
three counts of making child pornography;
four counts each of sexual assault on a person younger than 16,
one count of making sexually explicit material available to children;
sexual interference with a person younger than 16 and
making an invitation to sexual touching involving a person younger than 16.
O.P.P. say the charges relate to incidents that occurred in nearby Tweed, Ont. between 2013 and 2016. The charges involve four young people between the ages of 12 and 15, who cannot be identified.
Police said they launched an investigation on February 14 and McLaren appeared in court the following day.
McLaren was released Friday on strict bail conditions prohibiting any contact with the four minors or with any male person younger than 18. She must avoid public places where minors may gather and cannot possess a mobile phone or pager.
If had been a dog, she'd still be under the local jail.
