It's colder than it was over the weekend - high only around 50 - but it still feels springlike. It's wonderful.

Got the ok today to invite my mom's class for a field trip to the plant. They are looking for something different, and having an in with the president helps. They are studying commerce and manufacturing and the like.

Nursing a sprained ankle today. It happened yesterday and made me acutely aware of how often I stretch my legs in my sleep.

I lost my filter with FIL yesterday and called him a liar. He said that the reason BIL and SIL don't like me is because he told them I don't let DH keep any of his stuff. So I called him a liar. Because he is. DH has told FIL multiple times that he does not want all the crap FIL keeps shoving at him. Some things (like his autograph collection) he wants. Other things (like most of his toys) he doesn't. But, FIL can't accept that DH doesn't want to hang on to every blasted thing he's ever owned. So he maligns me to the rest of the family. Jerk.

DS has already had one time out today. He flipped his beanie over not being allowed to dump out the bag of animal crackers. Bag went up and he melted down. He went to time out. Boy was he pissed.

Sorry I forgot to check on you last night chef. Sometimes my feeble old mind goes. I hope you're doing okay. Let me know if you need anything.

DH is off running errands and left me at home. I have to make a pineapple upside down cake for women's group tomorrow.

I forgot all about you saying you were going to check in. My FIL pissed me off and my mind was busy fantasizing about duct taping his mouth shut. He was in rare form yesterday.

I appreciate the advice. 2 Advil took the edge off. It's still swollen. It's at the point where it hurts enough to be annoying. I had stuff I wanted to do today that isn't going to get done. I'm keeping it elevated. DS is letting me borrow his chair to put my foot on. It's the least he could do seeing as how he broke the recliner part of the couch.

Wasn't that priceless? I swear. He thinks he knows everything there is to know about medicine. He acts like the slightest bit of ibuprofen will kill you but says there's nothing wrong with guzzling soda.

MIL snuck me 2 Advil when FIL was busy. She doesn't have a bug up her butt about meds like FIL does.

I'll take a spork and a cattle prod. I'm not sure what crawled up his butt yesterday but sheesh. He commanded DH to not sell the stuff he gave him. For one thing, it was DH's stuff to begin with. DH can do whatever he pleases with his stuff. For another thing, he seems to think that DH actually wants all this crap and he lectured DH on not letting 'that b***h' (meaning me) talk him out of keeping his treasures. DH has told him time and again he doesn't want the stuff but FIL hears what he wants to hear and fabricates stuff to fit what he wants to be true.

 My opinion? No.

I have zero qualification to diagnose him but I made an armchair diagnosis awhile back of narcissistic personality disorder awhile back.

Oy he sounds miserable. Sorry you have to deal with that Chef.

Dh and my passports came today.. it took 2 weeks from the day we applied. Is that a record or what? We did not pay for them to be expedited or anything.

Gotcha.  I'm not qualified either & obviously (thankfully) never met him but I just get an off vibe about him.  And narcissist may be accurate.  He does insert himself in every situation or so it seems from your vents.

Yes, we are going to Scotland in July. Everyone was telling me I was cutting it close because of how long getting a passport can take, lol.

I've never needed a passport before now. I only ever went to Mexico when a birth certificate was enough to get in.

You have his number and call him out and he hates that which is why he tries to make you look bad.  BIL and SIL probably also have his number and just hit the delete button.

I've had those calls. You really throw them off if you say you don't have a computer. I told one I couldn't trust computers and was even taking a big risk talking on the phone because HE might find me.

I should probably find my passport, and figure out when it expires ... or expired.

I got it about 9 years ago, when I got this job, and almost immediately went to a national sales meeting

in Mexico.

Your FIL called you a b!tch to your DH? W T H?!

Why did your DH allow that? You all should have left immediately. No one gets to treat you like that, I don't care who they gave sperm to once. No. Just no. Someday your DS will be old enough to understand what is being said. Is that something your Dah wants him to hear?!

Sorry. I can't help it. You are too valuable to be treated like that.

DH and I told him to sod off almost in unison. DH was a little quicker at getting his mouth open than I was.

We go over there for MIL. She doesn't usually raise her voice and she told FIL off yesterday loud enough for me to hear it. I'm partially deaf so that's saying something.

DH and I are contemplating telling MIL that we will come pick her up and take her out. DH is allergic to cats anyway so it will be better for him to not be in their house.

Ok. Whew. Glad to hear that. I don't like anyone treating you like that, my momma bear came out. Sorry.

I would 100% tell your MIL that you won't see her if FIL is around. He has issues and your sweet boy doesn't need to see/hear/be around that.
