Ok, here is one of my theories on how we elect Presidents. America seems to want a President that gives them a Warm Fuzzy in some way. We want someone who seems like a guy you would have a beer with or somehow seems endearing on some level. Reagan had the funny Grandpa quality. He was warm and had a wry sense of humor. Clinto was our Bad Boy rascal. We could forgive him with his little wink in the eye because he had that rakish quality. W was kind of a cowboy. Had a big of swag and seemed down to Earth. Obama is like the cool college professor you used to have. Now, going forward. Hillary has no warmth about her whatsoever. There is nothing that endears her to people. I think Cruz has the same kind of problem. He doesn't project warmth or sit and chat with me, etc. People want warmth from their President. Trump has that kind of bravado and he has a likeable quality about him like Clinton. Rubio has the puppy dog face and eyes and seems sweet. Bernie has the doting Grandpa persona.
I think the theory is good, but I don't agree that Trump has the same kind of charm as Clinton. And I'm going to be really ticked if people elect "grandpa" just because they like him.

His charm is of being the guy in the room that has no filter and blurts out what he is thinking. That kind of honesty is refreshing nowadays.
I disagree. Hillary is rehearsed and scripted. She says what she is told to say depending whom she is speaking too. She doesn't blurt out her true feelings about anything.

I was speaking of Bill, not Hillary - to go with your comparisons.

Oh, i see. Bill had a boyish roguish charm to him. Maybe he didn't appeal to you but he had did to a lot of people.
But, yeah, Trump has the rogue factor. Going off script. Sticking it to the man , even though he is the man, lol. He shook up the entire GOP and thwarted their script. That is quite an accomplishment .

Insults are never "refreshing." And you used the word "charm" referring to Trump...Are you feeling okay???

p.s. I hoped this thread was going to be about removing those tiny falls of fuzz from sweaters.
Some truth is "insulting". Deal with it. The truth about illegals and crime may be "insulting" to you. I can't help that. You will just have to be insulted i guess.
Bill Clinton was lovable. I loved him. Even though he did bad things. But he WAS charming and people LIKED working with him. People will tell you they liked working with him. Though Trump appeals to some he definitely does NOT appeal to all. And he's NOT charming. You can say what you want without using profanity, insults, or just plain nasty language. It's not WHAT you says but HOW you say it. I was taught that early on. You can be honest with someone without being a dlck about it. Hillary has no personality. No charm. Sanders does. He won't win but he does have that grandpa quality.

And, neither did Clinton appeal to ALL. Nobody appeals to all. I didn't like him nor did i find him particularly attractive. Lots of people like Trump. Trump also works well with people. He may not be your cup of tea and that's fine. But, he has broad appeal across a lot of sectors.

No. Clinton did not appeal to all. But on a likability scale his numbers were off the chart. Have you seen the national polls on Trump? I know you love him but he does not score well. On a scale of who you'd LEAST like to see on tv for the next four years Hillary came in first quickly followed by Trump. Even Sanders was further down the line. On a national poll of who do you think is the least likable person, again Hillary came in first quickly followed by Trump. People don't like Trump as much as they like his obnoxiousness.

Trump doesn't score well? And he has 10,000 people showing up at his rallies and Hillary has to beg people to come. I get that YOU don't like. But, LOTS of people do.

The truth? You mean like you can't just blink and make college free for everyone? Or just blink and have free health care or free anything you want? Uh huh. Talk about magical thinking.
Let me preface this by saying I am NOT a Kasieck fan. Or however you spell that. But last night I watched an interview with him and they showed a tv commercial he PULLED. It was at one of his speeches or town halls or whatever you call them. A young man stood up, he looked like he had a disability of some sort, and told Kasieck that he feared for the future of the country. He started crying and thanked Kasieck for giving him a ray of hope in a dark world. Kasieck walked over to him and bear hugged him and then sat down and talked to him with his arm around him. When he found out his team had made an ad out of it he was furious. He said that was a private moment in that man's life and not to be shared with the rest of America. Apparently they also made a similar commercial out of a woman who was there talking about raising two disabled children on her own. I have to say, I was impressed. That commercial was really powerful and he could have exploited it to no end.

You judge Trump by this board and all his followers here. Not by the ENTIRE United States. Sure he has plenty of followers. But he still may not have enough to win. In REPUBLICAN ONLY polls 49% of people say they absolutely would not vote for him if he was the only Republican candidate. That's half of Republicans that won't vote for him. Do you not see how that could ruin this election? No. You don't. Because you only see and hear what you want to believe.
I believe that Trump has a chance of making the nomination. And if that happens I foresee Hillary taking this election. Do not delude yourself. This board is pro Trump. But not all of life is. See, you think I hate Trump enough that I don't think realistically. I do. It's the Trumpeteers who do not. You only believe what you want to believe. You have somehow deluded yourself into believing that a billionaire big business man is going to look out for the little people. I almost hope he wins so I can watch the destruction.
And you are dead wrong if you think I make my vote based on "free stuff". I believe highly in social programs. But they should be a hand up not a hand out. I believe they should be limited and people should be made to work. I worked hard for the things I have. So did my DH. Neither of us expects or wants anything "free". Even my children understand the concept of there is nothing free.

Trump is going to win the election. People like him and he is far more popular than you think. All those mysterious Jeb voters were gonna prop up the others but Trump is still sailing to victory after victory. He will be the next Potus.

Except that Trump is WINNING. So, yeah. Predictions have to have some basis in truth. History tends to repeat itself. Hillary crashed and burned in 2008. She is starting to crash and burn again. She will most likely get the election, but people don't LIKE her. They dislike her far more than any other candidate, even Trump. So, get yer Orange on!
The last time I saw WINNING in all caps was when Charlie Sheen was having a meltdown. Sorry it just crossed my mind & made me laugh.
I think you do have a point that the winning candidates have a personality we can identify with. Trump has charisma. He is larger than life. Hillary just comes off as an icy bitch. Like you couldn't even meet her for coffee because your coffee would freeze.
So, if I called people on this board fat pigs, bimbos and pus*sies, that would be refreshing?
If I mocked someone's disability, that would be refreshing?
I'm guessing...not so much. I'd be banned in a heartbeat.
However, if that rude, crude, and lewd flaming arsehole does it, you lap it up and cheer his 'honesty".

Maybe Trump drinks tiger's blood too?
I agree that he's larger than life, but I'll disagree on the charisma statement.

Unbelievable.
What's unbelievable is your absolute obsession with American Politics.

She probably warms up to her lesbian girlfriends. Wiener's wife.

Unlike most Americans, who know squat about other countries!
Most countries know a lot more about our politics than we do about theirs.

Oh bull. They are full of themselves. Wah wah wah. Their countries are falling apart at the seems and they want to sit in judgment of America. But, who do they call on when the going gets rough? Us.
Where in that statement did I say their politics were somehow better than ours? Way to run with that.

Trump pulled off another win. Looks like he'll get the RNC nomination. We can get ready for four years of Hillary.

I really think Hillary is going to take it.
