This afternoon in Sparks Nevada. Donald Trump told voters that all the candidates had left the State of Nevada in the morning, and were unworthy of their support. Here is Trump saying it:
(Can't transfer the video you'll have to click on the link.)
It is true that Marco Rubio and John Kasich are not in Nevada for the running of the caucuses. Rubio is in Michigan, and Kasich was in Georgia. But there's a problem for Trump. Trump strongly reacted to the Cruz campaign using a media report in the Iowa Caucuses against Ben Carson, calling Cruz's victory a fraud.
This time it was Trump himself saying that Cruz had left the state and was not worthy of voters votes for doing so. Multiple tweets from reporters show Cruz in Nevada, speaking at caucuses.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, new dirt coming out. Nope, just rumors so far but supposedly Rubio had an affair with a DC Lobbyist.
I wonder if they'll blame this on Cruz?

OMG, who cares? I know this might matter for Dems, but I think most Repos are gonna vote for whom they are gonna vote for.
And, if you are such a flake that "omg he LEFT the State, i won't vote for him" is something that pops into your mind, then you are a moron.
It's a long vetting process. And, for good reason. It needs to be long and arduous. That is just the way it is. But, most people have a DVR and can just tune into new episodes of The Bachelor or keeping up with the Kardashians if they don't want to watch politics.

Yes, it is a long vetting process. It is unlikely to happen before the next president is elected. But in the meantime, it is their job to work on it. Dammit - go through the motions so you don't look like pouting babies.

Yes, but it NEVER works in the reverse LL. Dems are never held to the same stardard. They do it and there is no pushback from the media to "do their job". For them it's like 'oh yeah, we should wait because we are in an election year" and they never get their feet held to the fire. Sorry, but Repos need to play the game exactly the way Dems do.

Republicans are supposed to be better. We are supposed to be the party of morality and values. They need to have a work ethic.

I agree but you can't stack the field one way and say the rules apply to you and not to them. That is the whole problem with this country. The rules apply to SOME people and not to others. We keep rewarding the wrong people and punishing the hard working people. At public school, we coddle and make excuses for the kids who don't do a damn thing and the kids who work hard and try are continually pushed aside cuz it "isn't fair", wah, wah. Well, ok, if Dems wanna play hardball, then we NEED to play hardball to. This is one of the most important decisions in the country. And, if Repos stall, then good for them since Dems have choosen to play that way, then I will play that way too.
It's like playing a basketball game. If the other team gets away with a lot of physical contact , etc, then if you want to compete, when you are coming down with a rebound, you better be putting your body on them. If you don't, you might as well role over and hand them the game.

First of all, running the country is not supposed to be a game. Second, lead by example - you sink to their level, and they have already "won". You lie down with dogs, you get fleas.

This whole country is ridiculous. You have Lady Justice as your avatar. Justice is SUPPOSED to be blind. But ,now we have rules for this group and that group. Oh, this doesn't apply to them because, blah, blah but this group is held to the letter of the law. The people that live to the letter of law need to revolt. Laws apply to everyone or they don't. If they don't, then fine, message received and it's time for the revolt. Trump is that revolt.

Turning into them is not justice.

Yup. It's a dirty business. But, they aren't doing anything wrong or illegal to put this off. There is precedent for that so Obama can start his whinefest. ANd, you can be damn sure that if a Repo President is in, that they are going to everything in their power to block a nomination as long as possible. That's the way it is. And, the system was set up to create gridlock because for the most part, this country is far better off when our leaders do nothing than when they "do something" which usually is just a cluster**** of laws that screw everyone.
Oh big whoop. He could very well have thought Cruz was gone. It's a NON-issue.
As to the Supreme Court--I'm BEYOND glad that they are taking a stand here. Another Ginsberg on the court would be a disaster. At least let the new president nominate. If it's a Democrat, we could well be headed for Civil War, anyway.

The last few Supreme Court nominees took 75 days or less to confirm. Obama has over 300 days in office left. There is plenty of time to get the job done and done well. No excuses.

They aren't getting the job down well if the put some liberal hack on the court and tip the balance.
If Dems played by the same rules, i would agree with you. Look what they did to Bork. So, sorry, you wanna play hardball, then i am gonna play hard ball. They play hard ball and then whine if you try to play by the same rules. Screw that.

No one Obama nominates will be getting the job done "well" given his disastrous track record of appointments. Neither Sotomayor and especially Kagan should have ever been put on the court.

Whatever happened to trying to put the right person in the job? The Supreme court is no joke. It isn't something to approach lightly. Sorry, it is a POLITICAL appointment and loaded with politics. I am sorry that some of you don't like politics, but it is what it is. They aren't elected. And, it has become a way to run your party agenda by whom you appoint. That sucks but that is how it is set up. Given the importance of the that, you you now have to fight tooth and nail. And, Repos for so long have had no will to fight anything. About time they got some balls.
Trump took Nevada big. He won over both Rubio and Cruz combined. His victories are starting to eat into the theory that as GOP candidates drop, their supporters will jump to anyone other than Trump. If Nevada is the example; even if supporters of cruz jumped to Rubio or vice versa, Trump would still have been the front runner. It is interesting.

No, they shouldn't have been, but it was controlled by Democrats so that is what was done.
Obama would have two choices - try to appoint a super lib again and be stonewalled, or, if he really wants an appointment to go through, he'd have no choice but to go moderate b/c Republicans now control. After November, you have no idea what the dynamics will be.
I'm not saying they have to confirm whoever he nominates, but they do have to go through the motions of their job rather than just refuse to even entertain anything.

The irony, which no one seemed to get, is that Trump accused Cruz of "cheating" by doing this exact same thing. He is out there preaching how wrong it is for Cruz to do it and yet he turns right around and does it. So no, it doesn't make me think "no big deal that's how politics are played" and it's okay. I guess for other people that behavior is perfectly okay though.

I get it, I just don't care. I didn't care when Cruz did it to Rubio and I don't care now. If voters are stupid enough to believe a competing candidate about something like that, and the candidate doesn't have presence enough to refute it, oh well.

Well, apparently not everyone feels that way. The news media was all over Cruz and reporters with law degrees were talking about how Trump should sue him. Now that Trump has done it not peep from the new media about Cruz suing Trump. Is the media slanted? 100?

I cared when Al Gore was accused of claiming that he'd "invented the Internet". What he had actually said, which was absolutely correct, was that he had FACILITATED the AARPANET by pushing through funding bills that were absolutely necessary. AARPANET, which connected military and industrial research facilities, later turned into the Internet we all know and love today.
It really pissed me off when he listened to his "handlers" who told him to ignore it, instead of refute and correct the lies.

Some reporters have to be afraid of Trump. If they say something that annoys him, he can buy their employer and fire them.

He's already threatened people who want to financially support other people who are running. There was a person who wanted to support, I believe, Rubio financially and told them if he did Trump would publish every skeleton in his closet and make it so he could never work again. Do I believe Trump has that power? Sure. We all have skeletons in our closet. Or at least the majority of us do. Is this the man I want to be president? No. Absolutely not. If he can do this without access to the information the government has on file just imagine what he could do with full access to that information. Kinda scary.
