Hmmm ...97% of the worlds' scientists vs 3% who were paid off by special interest groups like Big Oil.

Who should I believe? That's a tough one.

Well, for one thing, US EPA carries out bilateral coop agreements with other countries. Would they "ease the situation" without US involvement?

Well. China for one. Their smog is so bad, they've installed huge tvs so people can "see the sun".

China? I asked you to back up your statement of America doing more than all others.

Tell me what America has done that's easing the situation more than other countries.

"China has smog" isn't an answer.

Why don't you start backing up some claims?

We just can't seem to stop burning up all those buried trees from way back in the carboniferous age, in the form of coal, and the remains of ancient plankton, in the form of oil and gas. If we could, we'd be home free climate wise. Instead, we're dumping carbon dioxide into the atmosphere at a rate the Earth hasn't seen since the great climate catastrophes of the past, the ones that led to mass extinctions. We just can't seem to break our addiction to the kinds of fuel that will bring back a climate last seen by the dinosaurs, a climate that will drown our coastal cities and wreak havoc on the environment and our ability to feed ourselves. All the while, the glorious sun pours immaculate free energy down upon us, more than we will ever need. Why can't we summon the ingenuity and courage of the generations that came before us? The dinosaurs never saw that asteroid coming. What's our excuse?

Welts likes to pretend she gives a crap about the environment, but ask her to give up her fresh fruits and vegetables in February in Canada which used a HUGE amount of fossil fuels to get there and she is exposed for the hypocrite she is.

People in northern climates ate all winter long without eating fresh fruits and vegetables.  You just choose not to do that, thus exposing your hypocrisy and the fact that you are wholly  unwilling to really do anything about fossil fuel use.

Husker, how's that Fiat doing? Great gas mileage? Comfortable and safe to drive?

Wouldn't you get better gas mileage driving a Honda 150? Or Super 90?

Let's not even discuss your trucks ...

If the Fiat is your wife's daily driver, what are you driving? How's that vehicle's gas mileage?

I'm not the one going about preaching on how the sky is falling and how I care so much about the environment.

i don't think the sky is falling and I think the environment can take care of itself.

I don't think it's a given that global warming is a universally bad thing.  It will open up areas of the globe for food production, Oil and gas exploration, mining.

Maybe I should stop eating and breathing altogether. Will that make you happy?

What would make me happier is for you to admit to your rank, obvious hypocrisy.

I still have to eat. Sorry to disappoint you.

People in northern climates ate all winter long without eating fresh fruits and vegetables.  You just choose not to do that, thus exposing your hypocrisy and the fact that you are wholly  unwilling to really do anything about fossil fuel use.

Yes, I know you won't be satisfied unless I live in a cave, wearing hemp underpants and heating with polar bear dung.

You can do whatever you want--except to say you really care about the environment when yiou don't.

Ed, how is your Prius?  You know the one I am talking about. Electric powered by electricity made in a power plant that burns fossil fuels?

I believe in Climate Change. It's what happens over and over between ice ages. While we humans could have some impact on it, it's negligible. Maybe we get to the apex 10 years earlier than we otherwise would have. In the grand scheme of things however, our contribution to it is unimportant, since we would have reached that apex sooner or later anyway.
