Of course, when I was a girl scout, they didn't partner up with Planned Parenthood, and they didn't teach us about sex and our right to an abortion.

They had other things to focus on, like building character, teaching leadership, learning about girls around the world, and helping your community and the world.

Yep.  Sometimes you can find a troop that ignores the wants of the organization and just focuses on character, new skills, etc.  But they can not escape the constant fundraising.  Very sad.

DD was a Girl Scout from kindergarten through 9th grade. I never saw nor heard anything about sex or abortion of any of that. Not one peep. And I was involved and helped out all the time. I even had a leader's guide - never saw anything in there about it either. The only thing I ever saw was "it's your body, don't let anyone pressure you to do something you don't want to do" type of message and it was that brief. When people talk about Girl Scouts and abortion and such, I just don't see it.

I was also upset about how much money grubbing there was. It was all about how much your troop could raise for the council. Our council had a huge building with multiple floors and offices. More adults working there than I thought would be needed for a while state worth of Girl Scouts.

She got out just in time.  It was all over the news, the scandal.  How did you miss it?  Girls that went on a trip went to a girls only event (no parents) and were spoken to by Planned Parenthood and given wholely inappropriate pamphlets encouraging their sexuality and how some of them may like it "rough" and others not.  Since when is that the role of girls scouts?  And their relationship with PP is widely known.

Once again - people stressing the nonsense that freedom to **** around is what makes you and independent and strong woman.
