Baldy's Diner was really pretty good. I had one of the specials; DH had Chicken Fried Steak, mashed, and onion rings.
My special was fried chicken on sourdough bread, Monterey jack cheese, RIPE tomatoes, and unlimited soup or salad. I opted for the chicken rice soup. I'll give them a pass on it's being thin because today was only their third day of operation. Service was great - lots of cooperation among the staff. Maybe we'll try them on Sunday for breakfast on the way to Church.

I am so glad it is Friday.

My running for the week is done.

Just waiting for the rain to start.

I've got one very disappointed dad.  He was scheduled for cataract surgery next week; he's gotten to about 20/50-something in both his eyes and can't see well enough to enjoy reading, which is his main enjoyment.  His pre-surgery blood pressure check failed today, too high, and his surgery is now postponed until we can bring it down (and keep it down).

My dad has always been rather, ahem, crusty - not poor manners at all, in fact very classy, but when he gets ticked off he isn't shy about letting it show.  Since his strokes his filter in that area has deteriorated even more.  I was pushing him in his transport chair toward the elevator as we were leaving the doctor's office and there was a woman standing right in the middle of the aisle staring raptly at her phone - I had to literally turn his chair in a hard right and then a hard left to squeeze by her.  As he was right next to her he said in a normal tone of voice, "Stupid B!tch!".  LOL, at least he didn't use the N word or something like that.  He's going to get me into a fight one of these days...

First world problem. DN wants to come for dinner so we have to change the menu. Not really wanting burgers but it's the easiest to do on short notice.

One time, my grandmother said something mildly racist and I told her, grandma, you can't say that. She goes "I am 85 years old, I will say what ever I damn well please". I couldn't argue with that logic, but I was pretty sure *I* was the one who'd be getting her ass kicked defending her saying whatever she damn well pleased.

Went to lunch with my family today then shopping to stock up on necessities and took DS for a haircut. Apparently, that's a lot of work because he's sound asleep. Way too late for a nap and too early for bed but he isn't budging. Hopefully, bedtime will be easy tonight. We'll see.
