My youngest sister had Lasik about five years ago. She loved it for about 3 years..then it failed.

 Nothing actually touches your eyeball.

I was so damn excited! They told me to go home & sleep (to rest my eyes), and I couldn't.

Yes, it sounds like she has a strong will to live. I hope she recovers!

I just finished moving my plants from inside to outside.

I fear that a couple of the hibiscus plants didn't make it. I'll give them a couple of weeks to see if they bounce back.

It's 88 and sunny here. I little on the hot side, for mid-March.

I hope everyone is having a good Monday.wink

I think I'm going to go pick out prescription sunglasses this afternoon. I miss wearing sunglasses not that I am back in regular RX glasses. Lasik was $$$ down the drain...:(

I have prescription sunglasses.  The ones I have now I got from Vision Works.  They messed up the film on one side & there is a ripple.  I didn't wear them until I went on vacation & when I came back I never got around to complaining.  But I'll never go there again.

yeah I won't either.  I don't like that place.  I swear for the price they charged for DD's glasses, even with insurance, I could have gotten 2 pairs at a Costco or such.

My sweet Pi cow should have been in her second lactaion and expecting her third calf on her fourth birthday, today.

She died in September, horribly.

That is a picture of her with my cousin, who won grand champion with her as a two year old.

We have a husband and wife couple that work for us, and just found out that the wife is three months pregnant! It's very exciting.
I went and found her at the other barn tonight to say hello and congratulations. In order she is:
SCARED. She does not feel ready. This was not planned. This was, in fact, planned against. She is living far away from her family right now, and feels overwhelmed.
EXCITED! She listened to the heartbeat! Saw it move on the monitor! She thinks it's a boy, it wiggled so much! It looked like a little fish!
BEWILDERED. What now? Should they move closer to family? Where? Will they both be able to find work in a timely way? Does it make sense to try and find a new job while pregnant? Can she even still work here? And what about their housemates?
I told her to just calm down and be happy. We have six months to figure it out, and they have both been good help and we are certainly willing to make reasonable accommodations and help out as much as we can. Babies are exciting! Be happy!
I think I cheered her up a bit. She seemed more scared and overwhelmed than anything, but seemed much more focused and cheerful when I left.

They just found out today. She was feeling ill over the last couple weeks, and thought it was her tooth. Then realized that she was a bit late. A lot late. They went to the doctor today. I asked the husband this morning if she was feeling ill because she was pregnant.
"I DON'T KNOW. Why are you asking me? Why would I know?"
"You're her husband, I mean, seems like you ought to know. . ."
"Well I don't! It is possible I guess. But she SHOULDN'T be. It doesn't make sense for her to be. It is possible. DO YOU THINK SHE IS???"
"Me?! Why would I know?"
"You're a woman! Women!" *gestures wildly* "They know things! What does your mother think???? Did she say anything? WHAT DOES SHE KNOW?"
"I mean, she thought it was possible. . . "
"OH MY GOD. Is it nine yet? What time is it? Is it nine?"

Yes, I get to train a temp to work 4 days.

I always get nervous when I go on vacation. What if they decide they really don't need me?? My coworker pointed out that I have to train a temp because my boss can't survive 4 days without me.

Not many companies hire temps to cover someone's vaca, they are doing that because they don't know what they will do without you.  She can at least answer the phone, make copies, do errands. She can't do your 'real" work.

Why when I give my dogs a treat do I have to show my hands afterwards like a blackjack dealer?

I don't even know if they are giving her computer access. My boss has this thing where he doesn't call people. He calls me and says, "have Mr. Lewis call me" so I call Lewis and tell him to call boss. I hang up and hear boss' phone ring. That's mostly what she will be doing. And answer the phone, let visitors in (we have a secure building), take deliveries, and file. I have so much filing for her to do that I haven't had time for in months.

Oh bonus for you!  Have her focus on that.  You'll come back to an uncluttered work area.

Aw, that's a shame Ohfour!  No improvement at all?  cry

Mine didn't last either.  It's not uncommon.  I regret having mine done.

Mine was done at a very reputable facility by skilled doctors and it too lasted about 3 years, and then I found out they removed the cornea in a way to make the front of my eye flat.  yes I have perfect vision in glasses...I HATE glasses, contacts are not great options as they tend to float on my eyes and go into and out of focus.  so fine for riding, driving etc.  just not working on computer with numbers etc.  You know MY job
