Hi,

Home from the hospital until Tuesday, then back for a "procedure" then an operation.

Breathing is good. More to come though.

Thank you for caring,

Ed

I saw ed briefly on Sunday morning when I dropped off some treats. I also saw him last night after a procedure.
I just spoke with ed's wife. He had big surgery today, remains in recovery room overnight. Per surgeon, it went well.
His lungs are not in great shape. He has a long recovery in front of him.

I will either see him tomorrow night or call her again.

I know he and his wife appreciate the good thoughts coming from here.

Anyone who wishes to send him a card can PM me and I will give you my address.

Hi,

I am back from the hospital, and, I think, done with surgery.

Cut, recovering, bruised and very tired.

More later,

Ed

The forms for claiming disability have been driving Spouse nuts all day, and she does not travel pathways like that alone.

When I left the hospital, I was thinking I could maybe drive to a drugstore myself the next day ...

Nope.

First, staying near the bathroom, my digestive system was given only clear liquids, then nothing, then anesthesia ...

then repeated.

I am hoping to retrain it SOON.

Second, if I let the tylenol level drop too far, the sensations where the chest tubes were coming out through my rib cage below my left shoulder,

and the sensations where my left kidney used to live ...

I hesitate to call it "pain" but it's like being bruised and add "really weird" . VERY distracting and VERY annoying.

What does the body do with the space where an organ used to be?

I can still feel the hole where my gall bladder used to be and that surgery was back in July 2012.

I'm sorry.

Do you feel pain or weirdness there?

I just spent 30 minutes rebooting devices, including two routers in the basement (lots of stairs cry ) while getting my internet service back on line..

Like, I woke up at 4:00, and wanted to read here ...

for a few minutes

It's now 6:12.

Here's Momala doing the happy dance that you're back home!!! Yippee!!!

Your other organs will shift miniscule amounts to fill up the space. Don't forget - nature hates a vacuum. You won't even notice it.

If your incision sites start to itch, squeeze out the contents of a vitamin E capsule and smear it on the incision. Takes away the itch, promotes healing, and tends to lessen the appearance of scar tissue. Do this daily.

Hugs!

Weirdness. No pain for the most part. Sometimes, the clips on the biliary ducts will poke me and that hurts.

 smile

A pattern is emerging,

After I take my tylenol, I seem to sleep comfortably for about an hour, then I have a couple of hours of feeling just fine.

Earlier today I took a shower (YAY!) Then things slowly become annoying until the next dose.

Every 8 hours.

Tomorrow I hope to get a haircut. My beard had been getting annoying, and was not going to be good enough for me to play Santa.

(I miss my friend Jim!)

The docs have me continuing with an anticoagulant, so no sharp blades.

I shave with a couple of electric shavers. No bleeding.

I used to cut my own hair, when looking like a "hippie" was okay. Even cool.
