Heard that song yesterday. Haven't heard it in a while. But now it's in my head. Oh well, it's a good song.

Hope it is a peaceful Sunday for everyone.

First nightmare -- DH and I were in a hotel and there was a knock on the door. I opened it; there was a guy with a rifle.

Second nightmare -- DH and I were attending a fancy event at a big library. I changed out of my dress and we went home. I returned the next day to look for the dress. It was not there...then my car got stolen...

I decided to get up.

Creeeeeaaaaakkkkk !

That's my bones trying to work. I'm so tired from the first day of the cookoff.
Everything went well, no major snafus, just a couple of the judges didn't show up.
More on this later, if I survive the day.

Stay well.

Morning one more time.

Hope you don't get a lot of snow, IKWTDS.

Momala and LL, I hope you get better as the day goes on.

Morning, SB.

FNW, the party went really well. The renewal was sweet and the party was nice. I ran out of punch but only after everyone kept going back for it. I have a enough sandwiches leftover for another party and a whole vegetable tray and cheese tray left.

I've already broken it down into bags in the fridge. A huge drawer of grab and go snacks.

I'm barely functioning this morning. It's going to take a couple days to get over this. I'm swollen, red and feverish and need help with just about everything right now. But it was really worth it.

I am so happy to hear it went well. When I saw you were frustrated, I started to worry. Glad it was nice, and glad it's over. Now rest.

Happy first day of Spring!

It's chilly, but sunny here.

I'm not sure what we'll be up to, other than getting Paul back up to school.

Have a good day, Good Geeks.smile

The frustration was because I had spent 12 hours at the fellowship hall, Caitlyn too and the boys spent 5 hours after school, organizing, setting up and making space for what I was told would be there. Food wise.

Then mom starts in about all kinds of stuff she and my brother talked about that I didn't plan for.

Fine. I let it go.

Then we couldn't get in the church till a whole hour later than we needed to.

The sanctuary wasn't finished.

The cake was crooked.

And then when people started coming in, instead of going into the sanctuary, they came into the fellowship hall.

And my brothers kids were late and we had to wait for them to change.

But, once all the glitches were overcome, it went swimmingly.

Everyone else has left, and this is my last full day of vacation. I'm going to watch the Notre Dame game and then wander around a bit. Need to pick up some presents to take home. And figure out what I want for dinner.

My biggest disappointment would be the meals. Not because Vegas doesn't have great food to offer, but because it would seem this branch of the family doesn't care. We went out to breakfast once, other than that, it was just fruit from the spread in our basketball viewing room. We never really had lunch, it's like a forgotten meal to them. Then last night, we didn't have dinner until after 9pm! I had an amazing dinner my first night here - alone. Hoping to replicate that tonight.

But what to have: Chinese? Steak? Italian? .....

DD is finishing up a meeting with her academic advisor and then we will be back in the car and driving home. It was a great weekend! Not looking forward to the drive though.

Which casino are you in?  We had some wonderful meals while we were out there over Christmas.  Mirage buffet was very good, There is an Irish bar off strip over by Rio that had very good food.  Was not impressed with the food over by Fremont St.  There were other restaurants we wanted to try but could not justify spending that much money on dinner.  Bellagio was recommended for Chinese food,  Rio for Vietnamese.

I'm at the Flamingo. They have a steakhouse downstairs, thinking I might try that. After the Notre Dame game, I'm going to walk around some. I'll see of something jumps out at me

I hope to go to Vegas someday. The last time I was there I was 18 and it was the old time Vegas long before they built the new casino hotel.

You should definitely come. It is a lot of fun, even for people like me that gamble very little.

I'm already planning my next trip here in my head

DG, hope you are enjoying your last day of vacation and have enjoyed a wonderful meal this evening. Do you travel home tomorrow?

Lily, glad that after all the glitches got fixed all went well for your parents party.

Mom had a wonderful turn out for her 80th. She was beaming all day. We wished we had more time together. Family from as far away as Illinois and Wisconsin came. It was so good to see so many there for her.

The younger generation partied hardy into the wee hours. We didn't stay for that part.

DS, DGS and I came home early so DS could spend some time with his dad. So we were up until the wee hours as well, only here the old folks could crash earlier then the youngin's. Brother and sister and families visited until I don't know when..

Sigh, a great weekend, wished it had been longer. :)

Hope everyone has a great Monday tomorrow.

Yes, I head back to the real world in the morning. I spent my afternoon souvenir shopping on the strip. I am now exhausted. I think I'll try the steakhouse in my hotel, I'm too worn out to venture any further

I don't come for the food, per se, but living in the area I do, I like the options here. We don't have any sushi places, no true Italian places, etc. I'll admit, the steak was good, but not as good as the one I had at home from the local place a couple weeks ago. But the truffle Mac & cheese was amazing.

Flan, you should give it a try. It's really a lot of fun, even if you just people watch.
