I use a floating foot for quilting, which involves three layers.
I have used a regular quilting foot for binding satin edging without any problems. Just pin your material well, remove pins as you sew (do not sew over a pin) and you should be fine.

LOL! I miss my old neighbor. He sewed. Fixed everything for me.
I should find the "Men who Quilt" video. It is hilarious. I have known only one man who sewed, but he was nuts and ended up in prison. I am not going to admit that my mother is related to him either.

LOL! My neighbor was taught by his mother. Had an antique machine. It was a thing of beauty. You'd walk in and he was making drapes, pillow covers, etc.
