That was very cute. I can see Bernie talking to animals as kind of a kindly Mr. Doolittle. He seems very genuine and kind. However, Presidental material, not so much.

If being a "nice guy" was all that was required of a president--Carter would have been great.

Obviously, it's not, since the Carter presidency was arguably the worst of the 20th century--and with Warren Harding and Woodrow Wilson in there, he's got some stiff competition.

I think Trump is the modern era Adolph Hitler.

He appeals strongly to the gullible and people who've never seen movies of Hitler's speeches in the 1930's.

His attitudes , to me, align too closely with The Fuhrer.

I think Donald Trump is the only Republican candidate that has a chance of beating Hillary Clinton. But it's not a sure thing, yet. If I were to put odds out on the two of them, I'd put the odds at 50/50.

Ted Cruz has no chance of beating Hillary Clinton. He proved that when, against Donald Trump, he couldn't get the Evangelical vote in South Carolina. His "I'm a Christian that wants to bring God back the way the founders intended" shtick isn't working as well as he hoped it would, because too many people are afraid of the precedents he might create, or they understand what Separation of Church and State means and how important it is to true freedom and liberty.

People don't like Cruz because he says he gets his guidance from the Bible and the Constitution. Hate to tell you, general you, our society has gone to hell in the last decade or so. Maybe if a few more people picked up their Bibles the country wouldn't be in the situation it is in. I saw a pastor the other day who was giving a sermon on why sex outside of marriage is okay and thought "We used to expect so much more from our kids." And it's not just sex. Our country is seriously lacking in morality. Look at the riots. Looting, stealing, hurting and sometimes killing people. Don't care if this post offends some people but we need a little MORE of what's in the Bible and not a whole lot less.

The crime rate is lowest in Quebec, where we put away our bibles and stopped going to church altogether in the 60s.

We just had our first murder, three months into the year, and it's a city of four million souls.

A STRANGE PHENOMENON

Church attendance, which stood at more than 90 per cent before 1960, didn't so much collapse as vaporize - at least among those born after 1945. "At a precise moment, during the year 1966 in fact, the churches suddenly emptied in a matter of months. A strange phenomenon that no one has ever been able to explain," Father Leclerc, the priest in Denys Arcand's Barbarian Invasions , tells a French appraiser to whom he is trying to peddle church artifacts. The appraiser declares them commercially worthless, of value only to Quebeckers' collective memory.

Maybe the answer is LESS religion, instead of more.

Except the timing of the decline in religion heralded in a time of moral decline, greater crime, higher drug use, more single parents, more deadbeat deads, and on and on and on.

I agree.  We don't need more "religion".  We need more people who are dedicated to following Christ and His example.

However, I think Welts has a point. The Church is no longer reaching people and meeting people where they are at. Why? What has happened that the church has fallen into irrelevance in the lives of many people? I think that's a fair question.

People are failing for the deception on Satan.

It's all Biblical.

Anyone with more than a cursory knowledge of the scriptures can see it.

Society has fallen to the point where people want what they want when they want it.  Selfish pursuits are the norm, and doing "what makes you happy" regardless of how it affects others.  We no longer put others first.

The Bible does talk about the love of man growing cold in the end times. I agree.

Exactly.  They know they are wrong, but to have it pointed out is not OK to them...

Well, i have sat in churches with people who went to church for YEARS literally and had No Clue what the Bible said about anything. So, personally, i have seen a lot of false teaching in the church. And churches who are more interested in how reading Max Lucado books than scripture.

Seriously!  Or that Warren guy.  His book is taught all over the World and it is so Scripturally flawed, it makes me ill.

Can we stick to READING the Bible? Can we have a Bible study that studies the Bible itself and not a book ABOUT the Bible? Can i send my kids to Sunday school and NOT have them hear about Noah's Ark for the 10000x time? Can you teach my kids DOCTRINE? The Doctrines of Atonement, the Perserverance of Saints, the doctrine of Last Things, etc?
How about having kids memorize Scriptures on 3 x 5 cards? And not some diluted version but the NJKV or NASB., etc.

You need the Baptist Awana program.  That's all about teaching kids scripture.

Yes, there are good programs.  You just have to find them.

Well, at least I didn't tick anyone off. I do feel like the US is in moral decline. People get mad because Cruz talks about the Bible and says that he gets his morals from there. I can think of way worse places to get your morals from.

I'm glad Quebec is a safe place. And I have no reason to bash Canada in any way. But the US has some issues. And our morality is shot. I think Cruz's only downfall is that a huge majority of our country doesn't want and even rejects morality. Even atheists have some of the same core beliefs of Christians. Not to start a flame war here. All I know is we have a whole generation that is failing in life. Something is wrong. We've worked so hard to take God out of everything. I honestly have to wonder if that doesn't have a whole lot to do with it.

But that's what I'm saying.  Cruz is very grounded in his Christianity.  All the people who want what they want with no repercussions don't want someone who is going to try to put morality back into things.  That's why I think Cruz will have a hard time winning.

True.  I talked to my pastor about that recently.  He said the new pope is changing this.  Said protestants broke off and focused on scripture, to differentiate themselves with Catholics, who focused on the Eucharist.  New pope wants to focus more on scripture.
