BS. Christians worship the Trinity. Islam has no such concept.

Where did I say that Christians didn't or that Muslims did? It certainly wasn't contained in the post of mine that you quoted when you posted that. I'm confused.
Islam is "mostly love"? Honor killing your wife and children? Killing and bombing airports, planes, suicide bombers who are your own children? Uh huh? Islam is a viscious and horrible religion. It is a religion of Destruction. The cultures that live under Islam have done very little in the advancement of mankind. The Jewish culture has resulted in more Nobel prize winners for medicine and science far surpassing Muslim cultures which do NOTHING to but destroy what is good. They do not engage in good but in evil. They simply seek to destroy what is good. If some of you wish to pretend otherwise, then I guess you may to our peril. - Lady Gaga Snerd

Did you miss the period after "God" intentionally or by accident? Here's what I wrote again, see if you can find the period after the word "God" (I'll change it to [PERIOD] so it stands out better).
" It's just my opinion, but neither capture the true essence of God[PERIOD] With it's message of mostly love, I believe the Bible to be closer to God's intent for us than the Qur'an, but they are still both books written and influenced by men. "
I was expressing that the Bible is closer to God's message. I guess you missed that point in your rush to judgement.

We do but they haven't embraced Jesus as their savoir. How can they believe in the trinity when they don't believe Jesus was the messiah. I'm pretty sure you knew that but tried to pick at lily. Either that or you're not as smart as you think.

Do you believe that Jews and Christians worship the same God?
After all, Jews do not accept the trinity.
The Jews believe in God. They are still waiting for the Messiah.
The Jews are God's chosen people.

Oh, for heaven's sake! This is about the same Gods and the trinity, etc.
I asked her a question. If Islam doesn't have the same God "because they don't have the trinity", then neither do Jews.

Don't get you knickers in a knot.
The Jews believe in God, the Son of God and Holy Spirit.
They just don't believe Jesus was the Son of God.

They don't. They worship God the Father, but do not have a concept of the Holy Spirit that I know of, and they don't worship Jesus or believe he is the Messiah.
However, who they worship is irrelevant as to whether they are God's chosen people. MANY, MANY times throughout their history, Jews have fallen away from God to worship Baal, the gods of the Amorites, and others. Even though they rejected God then, as they are now--they were still God's chosen people.

????? Husker, they worship the God of the Old Testament before Jesus. They are just still waiting for the messiah, thinking he hasn't come, yet. How can you say it's not God?

They worship God the Father--but that is not the same thing. The Messiah HAS come.
Again, the history of the Jews is replete with examples of them falling away from God to worship idols and false gods and rejecting God--as they are rejecting him now since they reject Christ.
These are a few, there are more:
"And the LORD said unto Moses, Behold, thou shalt sleep with thy fathers; and this people will rise up, and go a whoring after the gods of the strangers of the land, whither they go to be among them, and will forsake me, and break my covenant which I have made with them." Deuteronomy 31:16, KJV
"And they forsook the LORD God of their fathers, which brought them out of the land of Egypt, and followed other gods, of the gods of the people that were round about them, and bowed themselves unto them, and provoked the LORD to anger." Judges 2:12, KJV
"And the children of Israel did evil again in the sight of the LORD, and served Baalim, and Ashtaroth, and the gods of Syria, and the gods of Zidon, and the gods of Moab, and the gods of the children of Ammon, and the gods of the Philistines, and forsook the LORD, and served not him." Judges 10:6, KJV
"For it came to pass, when Solomon was old, that his wives turned away his heart after other gods: and his heart was not perfect with the LORD his God, as was the heart of David his father. For Solomon went after Ashtoreth the goddess of the Zidonians, and after Milcom the abomination of the Ammonites. And Solomon did evil in the sight of the LORD, and went not fully after the LORD, as did David his father. Then did Solomon build an high place for Chemosh, the abomination of Moab, in the hill that is before Jerusalem, and for Molech, the abomination of the children of Ammon. And likewise did he for all his strange wives, which burnt incense and sacrificed unto their gods. And the LORD was angry with Solomon, because his heart was turned from the LORD God of Israel, which had appeared unto him twice, And had commanded him concerning this thing, that he should not go after other gods: but he kept not that which the LORD commanded." 1 Kings 11:4-10, KJV
"And they transgressed against the God of their fathers, and went a whoring after the gods of the people of the land, whom God destroyed before them." 1 Chronicles 5:25, KJV
And further, to reject Christ is to reject God:
“He that receiveth you receiveth me, and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.” Matthew 10:40, KJV
He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad.” Matthew 12:30, KJV
“Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.” Mark 8:38, KJV
“He that heareth you heareth me; and he that despiseth you despiseth me; and he that despiseth me despiseth him that sent me.” Luke 10:16, KJV
“. . . This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.” John 6:29b, KJV
“And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.” John 6:40, KJV
“. . . I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” John 14:6b, KJV

I'm not wearing knickers and it was a stupid question. Calm down welts. You can get used to being the troublemaker just like me.
I asked a simple question. You had a hissy fit about me "picking on Lily".
I said picking at lily. lily's a big girl if you are picking ON her she'll let you know. Picking AT her is a totally different thing.
Semantics. Knock yourself out.
Semantics is what you say when you realize you misread what was said. If you can't see the difference your really aren't as smart as you think you are.

I know all that, Husker. But it's not like they are worshiping a false God. They have failed to listen to him and understand that he sent his son and therefore they do not receive salvation.

Maybe not--but the question was whether or not they worship the same God as Christians--and the answer is no. They have expressly rejected that God.

They haven't reject that God. They've rejected his son. I believe with all their questioning they will see the truth before the end. At least that's my desire.

He has other names, too. Each one a description of Him.

JEHOVAH - RAPHA: THE LORD WHO HEALS

There is nothing "loving" about Islam. As for the Bible being written by men, yes it was. Men inspired through God and the Holy Spririt. I think that God who is capable of speaking the world into existence is capable of making sure we have an innerant Bible.

God "whispered" it into the minds of those that wrote it. They wrote what they "heard" as best they could in the various languages the original texts were written in. Then the Council at Nicaea edited it some more (like the next couple of kids in line in "Telephone"), and now we have the Bible as the end result.
You said they worship the same God. They do not.

You are correct. I did say that they worship the same God.
You are also incorrect however, because they do worship the same God as Christians and Jews.
You are familiar with the requirements of being an "Abrahamic Religion", correct? Islam is an Abrahamic Religion because it recognizes Abraham as a prophet of it's God. Abraham was the prophet of only one God. Would you care to guess which God that is?

Are you just pretending to be a Christian because nothing you say is Christian in any way. Unless you can show me where you're getting your teachings from (Maybe yoda) you are not following any faith I've heard of. Do you belong to the I do what I want church of my own Bible? Or is this the Church Of *******? If you'd like to know who I think you are pm me. Oh wait you can't because you're using a proxy

And yes, I'm using a Proxy. It's either that or no chat boards, due to security software on my company provided laptop.
And as a Christian I can say that God loves us all, even the Muslims, and even if Mohamed gave them a bad translation of what he wanted to be said.
As I am not anyone that's been here before, it would be hard for you to guess who I am, so no, I'm not really curious. Whomever you are guessing is wrong. I won't judge you for it though. ;)
Well if you want to keep pretending I'll keep it to myself. You really sound just like yourself even if you don't realize. I'm pretty sure it's you but only the proxy saves you for now.

You seem to have missed the ENTIRE Old Testament. God is not 'tolerant" of false religions and idols. God is not "tolerant" of those going by the wayside.

So, the God that spoke the heavens and Earth into existence and created all that is, is too lame to make sure we have a Holy book that is accurate? Yeah, that makes sense.

I thought mere humans could not understand the will of God?
His ways are higher than our ways, yes. You seem presume that God cannot be "known" at all. We can know God on some level. I know you. I know my children. I know my spouse. Do i know everything about them, their every thought, opinion, etc? No. The Bible is God's letter to us to help us know Him. We know Him from creation and the world around us and also the written word and in 1000 other ways. But do we know Him fully? Of course not.
