I have super oily hair, and none of them work for me. I end up with a head of hair coated with white powder that has to be washed out. Not worth it for me.

They make dry shampoo for darker hair so it's not white powder.

I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.
Don't spray it on top of your head. Lift your hair in small sections and spray it under, then massage your head a little, and then let it sit a few minutes before you brush it.

I use them and I have dark hair. It's trial and error to find one that works for you. I like Klorane (High end $25ish) and Batiste ($6). I spray and let sit for a few minutes then rub in as if I was shampooing and then brush out. No white residue that way.

After my great grandmother passed, the family was cleaning things out.
In her vanity drawer was little balls of hair.
She never cut her hair. Her church didn't believe in women cutting their hair, other than bangs.
Anyway. When she brushed her hair, she would clean out the brush, roll up what came from the brush and save it.
Once every two or three weeks she would wash her hair and when she put it back up, she used those little balls between washings to get the fullness.

Her hair, when down, would lay in a pile on the floor. Took her a whole day to wash and brush.

She always had it up. The only time it was down was on the day it was washed.
Guess that's who influenced me. Mine got long enough I sat on it.

I absolutely hate to blow dry my hair myself. Like, it's one of the worst chores ever.
Me too. My hair is super thick and drying it with a hair dryer takes me at least half an hour. By that time I am sweating so much that I need another shower. I ❤️ dry shampoo for this reason. It buys me another 2 - 3 days!
I also apply it the way LL and NAOW do. You can't just spray it on and call it a day and expect it to work. You have to massage it in. My hair is so dark brown it's almost black and it works for me. You do have to find the one you like - but trial sizes if available.

I can't remember the last time I used a blow drier.
I also think I had wet hair from 8th grade until my 30s.

If I didn't dry my hair it would still be wet when I got home from work.
Yep.
Like I said, wet from 8th grade til my 30s.
When it was below freezing, I'd use a diffuser to get neXT to the scalp drier but it was always damp.
