So, what is your favorite font?

Any you hate that actually get used?

Is there a rare font we need to get?

Personally, I really like Century Schoolbook.  I draft all my wills in it.  Unfortunately, it's not a choice here.  Although the Georgia font is nice.

I actually very much dislike Arial.

We have a lot that I use at work for my fliers...I'll have to check on the names though.

I despise Times New Roman.

I can live with Verdana or Trebuchet.

I cannot, however, imagine a world without...wait for it...Comic Sans.

I do not see much of a difference between Arial and these: Verdana or Trebuchet

At work we used to be *allowed* only Times New Roman (I cried a little every time I typed anything) now the official one is Arial, and I feel better about that LOL

Times New Roman

Arial smile

I like Tahoma   biggrin

 Arial

Verdana

Trebuchet

I agree.  I like Trebuchet better though.  Arial is too stick-like.

I don't really like Courier or Courier New, either.

What is the dislike over Arial. I was thinking of going to Trebuchet, but I will have to get over the middle line of the capital E be shorter than the others.

E vs E

Now I learned something, I was wondering why the was a font named Trebuchet:

Trebuchet MS is a humanist sans-serif typeface designed by Vincent Connare for the Microsoft Corporation in 1996. It is named after the trebuchet, a medieval siege engine. The name was inspired by a puzzle question that Connare heard at Microsoft headquarters: "Can you make a trebuchet that could launch a person from main campus to the new consumer campus about a mile away? Mathematically, is it possible and how?" Connare "thought that would be a great name for a font that launches words across the Internet".[

The middle line of a capital E should be shorter.  Arial just looks so impersonal and robotic.

I am not going to quote that. But I was never taught the bottom was supposed to be larger as in your example.

I love the calligraphy type fonts but would not want to read a novel written in them. It is beautiful to look at though.

I love "Mistral" But it's extremely hard to read unless it's in something like a 30 point size or bigger.

For clarity or just regular writing, I prefer the simple fonts like "Arial" or "Tahoma"

I like Times New Roman.  I use it in all my court pleadings vs. Courier New.  Those are the only two accepted.  I also use it for all letters and day to day business.

I agree. I think fonts tell people what you are really all about. For me, it is all about saving printer ink, and from what I remember, Century Gothic was specifically designed to save ink. So yeah. I go with Century Gothic whenever I can.

Garamond also saves ink, but is not an option here.
