Molar Monday for me. 3 mercury fillings replaced, 1 new filling. 6 temp caps. Deep cleaning whole mouth. Estimated time in chair, 5 hours. Yay me.

I would take Advil or Aleve BEFORE the appointment. That's more than I've ever had done at once. Good luck.

My work space got moved last week and someone near by wears a perfume that I am allergic too. I keep trying to find the offender so I can talk to them about it. I don't want to make a huge deal of it, but would it be horrible if I told them once i figure it out?

I feel for you Bonny. I hope the offender does not get offended when you tell her.

Could someone else handle talking to her? Are there enough people that the offender will figure out who it is?
Technically you may need a doctor's note to document your allergy.

I have no issue talking to someone about it. Personally, I think matters like this should be handled between the two people. I'd much rather have someone come tell me they are allergic to my whatever then make it an HR thing or management issue right off the bat. I just need to sort it out. There are a bunch of IT people from India that sit on my floor. They douse themselves.
DH and I took our much anticipated vacation last week that we had planned for our anniversary back in January. DH didn't get to travel much as a kid so we went to three places he's never been: Vegas, Laughlin, and Oatman. He got sing with one of the premier Elvis impersonators in Vegas - something he will cherish for the rest of his life. The last time I saw him that happy was when our son was born. He fell in love with Laughlin and now understands why I go there vs Vegas when I want a weekend away. He thoroughly enjoyed spending time on the Colorado river and thought it was super cool that AZ is right across the river from Laughlin. Oatman is an old mining town in northern AZ. He really enjoyed being in a true wild west town vs the manufactured wild west town of Rawhide. He thought the burros roaming the streets of Oatman were cute.
DS will be coming home today. He fell asleep when we were within an hour of home last night so his grandparents kept him another night. We got DS a mini slot machine that has candy in it in Vegas. I'm sure the slot machine will be bereft of candy by the end of the day. It was only $3 so if it's not refillable, meh. I hope he won't be too mad about being home.

Oh, I understand, and you know your work setting better than I do.
Welcome back, chef! I'm glad your DH enjoyed himself, and that you did, too. I like Vegas. Never been to Laughlin, but I understand it's a lot of fun. I remember traveling through Nevada from Reno in a motorhome with my parents when I was a teen. We stopped for the night in a town called Tonopah. It was the middle of nowhere, and we laughed about this little "town." Tired and punchy, my brother looked in the AAA guide and sure enough, there was information about Tonopah. Apparently it was a prosperous silver mining town back in the day. I suspect Oatman might be similar? Like Calico?
I had such a wonderful time last night.
The concert was fantastic! Very traditional South African vocals and music. The band was electric.
They sang in four languages and the harmonies made me want to weep.
There was a Portuguese restaurant still open nearby, so we ate there.

Here's what I told DH: If you judge Laughlin by Vegas' standards, you will be disappointed. If you judge Laughlin for what it is, you will like it. Laughlin is not flashy, ritzy, crowded, etc. like Vegas is. The nights in Laughlin don't glow brighter than the sun. Laughlin is a small, relaxed gambling town. The riverwalk connects most of the casinos and it is so peaceful to sit and watch the waves roll along. The casinos do have lights but they're tasteful, not the "look at me!" style you see in Vegas. If you want a nice, relaxed getaway, you go to Laughlin. If you want to have an "experience" (for lack of a better word), you go to Vegas. You know how it seems that you walk for miles to get from the parking lot to the lobby to check in in Vegas? Laughlin isn't like that. The parking lot is directly outside of the lobby and the lobby is mere steps from the front doors. Also, the casinos in Laughlin don't have malls inside of them like the Vegas casinos do. There are some shops in the casinos but not a mall's worth of stores. There's an outlet mall and a strip mall across from the Laughlin strip though.
Tonopah is still in the middle of nowhere and still has nothing in it. It's built up some, I'm sure, since you've been as a teen but I went through it a couple months ago and it's nothing to write home about.
Oatman is kind of like Calico. Except Oatman has burros roaming the streets. I also didn't see a mystery shack. Oatman is also more tourist trap-y than Calico. I need to take DH and DS to Calico. Maybe after summer or in spring of next year. I love Calico and hopefully they will too. DH just has to build up some vacation time again. DS enjoyed Rawhide so he'll probably enjoy Calico too. We have a similar town to Calico not far from us - Goldfield Ghost Town. Somewhat of the same attractions.
DH about crapped himself coming off the mountain from Oatman. The road was nothing but switchbacks and blind curves with NO guardrail to stop you from going right over the edge. Frequently, when you would come to the end of a straightish stretch of road, it would curve immediately and heaven help you if you're not going slow enough to make that curve as the edge of the mountain is only 15 feet ahead. I had fun driving it but was put off by no guardrail. The best part? The curves were narrow enough that 2 cars would have barely enough room to pass each other. I slowed way down and hugged the mountain on each curve. Thankfully, we didn't meet many cars coming from the opposite direction.
I just want to go on a vacay! You're all having so much fun!

I feel for your DH Chef. I about crapped myself just imagining it.
He's scared of heights. I'm not. I was the one driving, thankfully, otherwise we'd still be on that mountain It was also a good thing that the valley below was on my side. DH would've thrown up if it was on his side.
I do think it's stupid they don't have a guardrail preventing you from going over the edge. Especially at the ends of the straightaways leading into the curves. When you're on a descent, you can see the curve approaching at least. When you're on an ascent, all you see is sky at the top of the road and no indication that it curves.

It was dark, but different.
I want to go to Iceland. DS1 was supposed to stop there, but they changed him to a direct flight (he left from Boston). He's visiting the GF, who is studying there.
We don't have anything planned this year. Maybe a weekend in Chicago.
Oh! Forgot to mention. We went to the Hoover Dam on the way into Vegas. DH got nauseated taking pics of the dam due to his fear of heights. I offered to take the pics and he said he didn't want me to fall over the edge. He did enjoy getting to see the dam in person though.

I'm like your DH. Terrified of heights. I even get that gut twisting feeling if they show a roof scene in a movie. I would have died if the valley view was on my side. Have you had the pleasure of driving over a bridge with him yet?

DH always makes me drive the mountains as well. He's also terrified of heights. Made for some interesting family vacations, bwahaha.
Glad you had a good time, chef.

Hi Czech! It is a terrible fear to have but I think it is pretty common.

Oh yes! Many times! He freaks on the bridges where the bridge goes over nothing but is ok on bridges that have water underneath.
He did enjoy the view from our hotel rooms but didn't get too close to the window. I leaned against the window of our room in Laughlin and he freaked.
I'm bad though. I'm the one who will rock the seat on Ferris Wheels. I have zero fear of heights. But, show me a tornado irl and I'll panic. Actually, I only need a tornado watch or warning to send me into a panic. But heights? Pfft!

I have a good amount of practice driving mountains thanks to frequent trips to Big Bear when I lived in SoCal. Never had the experience of driving on a mountain with no guardrails until yesterday.
Came home early because of the snow. Visibility sucked and I drove very slow the whole way home, it was a white knuckle drive. I feel badly for those who didn't leave when I did, they will be on the road for hours tonight.

Snow? Didn't the north get the message that it's April? Glad you made it home safely.

I LOVED Laughlin! I was there twice - for the World Championship Chili Cook-offs. Loved the hotel & casino - super friendly. Spent four hours at the roulette table, with an initial investment of only $20. - and I played each spin.
Made it to the Finals table each year at the cook-off, but no cigar. Oh well, I had fun.

I have a healthy fear (or maybe mutual respect) for heights. But I tackle that straight on. I have been rock climbing, rappelling, driven on more mountains that I can count, drove in the British Virgin Islands where you could be on a 60 degree angle (up or down) and not always sure there was even a road there (there were several sections where half the road was washed/crumbled away). Sky diving and parasailing are on my bucket list. so is race car driving and flying a plane and/or helicopter. I may not like heights but I am an adrenaline junkie.
WTF???? My neighbors all made a pact to ignore the snow and not snow blow. I just looked out and 3 have done their driveways! I refuse to, although I may regret it tomorrow.
