I know! We had no idea we had a choice in his prescription coverage. They just mailed us a card and that was that. No one ever told us a thing. They're really helpful there. It's a government place for people with physical and mental disabilities to get help. The problem is there's so many people needing help and so little money. They exist in all states but they all have different names. Czech could tell you a lot more about it than I could. She told us today there is no housing for people. Only group homes or nursing centers. And they are all way out in the outskirts of the county. So we will have to see about that. However, once he's actually receiving services it's way easier to get new services or change his services. And we qualify for respite care. Eight hours a month. The system is just so overloaded though. All the people we saw today were really nice. In fact, from the beginning they have been.

Today brought another event that reinforced my belief in God. My parents and grandma were in a wreck. Their car is likely totaled. Some bonehead from NC with expired plates (they expired in September 2014! Sheesh!) ran the red and hit them head on. They were turning left. Parents are ok. Nothing broken, just bruised. They will both be very sore tomorrow. Grandma was just going for a CT when I left the hospital. My uncle is there with her. Grandma and Uncle told me to take my parents home so I did.
So why does this reinforce my belief in God? Because our friend G got today off unexpectedly and was able to watch DS while I took care of my family. This allowed DH to continue his workday. G was already here when I got the call. If I had to take DS with me, getting everyone in my truck would've been a challenge and my mother wouldn't have had anyone to communicate for her at the hospital. She doesn't communicate well. DS wouldn't have been allowed in the room because it's cold and flu season. My dad usually communicates for her but they were in separate rooms. There is no way things lined up so perfectly all on their own.

I'm glad your parents are ok -I hope Grandma will be.

I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.
Grandma is fine. Nothing broken, just bruising. Everyone is sore but that's to be expected.
Dad got the today. His Jeep got totaled. I'm sad because that was the best vehicle he's had in a long time. Prior to getting the Jeep, he kept getting lemons.
They had DS' second car seat in their Jeep since they take him a lot of places. I know the insurance will replace the car seat but don't know if they're going to write a check or just buy one.

For the car seat I have heard that they have you buy one and send them the receipt and they reimburse you. I don't know if all insurances are the same though.

Thanks :)
I posted about it on a mommy group I'm in. It seems each insurance is different. One mom said her insurance just wrote a check for the seat. I hope mine will do the same as that's the easiest option.
