TOTALLY GEEKED!

I remember pointing out that allowing people to use whatever restroom they identify with could lead to stuff like this and got blasted for it.

But people in this board think all bathrooms should be gender neutral. No one should feel threatened by the opposite sex, and if the are, they are fear mongers...

Wonder where the libs are tonight? They tend to crawl away when they have been proven wrong...

That didn't have anything to do with Transgenders. As cadiver pointed out:

Pretty much says transgenders can still use the restroom of the gender that they identify as.

If a place is going to go Unisex though, what they should do is make the stalls into "water-closets" with floor to ceiling walls (even if that's only accomplished by extending the thin stall walls up and down as needed) and "normal" doors (no cracks to peek through). That would eliminate the problem that occurred at the Toronto University.

Unisex is fine if done right with a little forethought.

For on thing, these are coed bathrooms, which have NOTHING to do with trans people. My school had coed bathrooms and have for years. Never heard of a single incident of inappropriate behavior.
There are a few other places around that have codd bathrooms, and oddly enough, most men are perfectly normal decent human beings who would not take pictures of women on the toilet, so yeah, they work fine.

They should focus on finding the perpetrator, not fussing over the bathroom.

Older buildings that only have one set of bathrooms per floor. That was why at my school.

And obviously cultures that seperate men from the women at every stage of daily life have a perfect record of harmony between the sexes. That OBVIOUSLY is the only thing that prevents men from being jerks.

 I shared a bathroom with 4 brothers, 2 sisters,  and both my parents. I'm not sure how that is considered separating men and women at every stage. Dramatic much?

Well you can doing everything together and it still doesn't stop social injustice or abuse of women. I'm also pretty sure that at the University of Toronto is not a culture you're talking about but sure lets bring some other cultures that have nothing to do with sharing freaking bathrooms.

With all the family bathrooms all around, I'm not sure why this is an issue. You have a penis, use the men's room. You don't, use the women's. You are confused, use the family bathroom.

I like family bathrooms, too, but try not to use them. They're usually so much dirtier.

I've used the men's room at work and it was cleaner. And provided reading materials.

I've used unisex bathrooms in other countries. The stalls were usually floor to almost ceiling and were sealed so there was no peeking. I don't know why they can't seem to manage that here. This seems to be one of the few (if only) country where using the bathroom is a big deal.

I used unisex bathrooms in Japan where I had to walk past the urinals to use the stall.  And yes, there were men using the urinals.   

When a big deal is made out of something then it becomes a big deal.
